Meet Trevor! 🐾 Trevor is a 2–3 year old, 12-pound poodle mix with a heart as big as his adorable smile. This incredibly sweet boy came from a difficult beginning—he was turned into a kill shelter along with several other poodles to be euthanized. Thankfully, **Joyrides Rescue** stepped in and welcomed Trevor into their program, giving him the second chance he truly deserves. Trevor was born with **Cerebellar Hypoplasia (CH)**, a neurological condition that makes him a bit wobbly and clumsy. But don’t let that fool you—Trevor is just as happy and full of life as any other dog! In fact, he’s an amazing ambassador for CH dogs. Everyone who meets him instantly falls in love with his joyful spirit and sweet personality. This lovable little guy is housetrained and crate trained (though he sometimes needs a little help getting into his crate). Trevor loves being part of a family and gets along wonderfully with other dogs. His favorite activities include going for walks, watching TV, following his foster mom around the house, and snoozing peacefully while you work. He’s curious, affectionate, and extremely friendly with everyone he meets. Trevor is also a quiet companion who rarely barks—but he gets very excited about one thing in particular: mealtime! 🍽️ Because of his CH, Trevor does best with a few simple accommodations: * An elevated food and water bowl helps him eat comfortably. * Runners or rugs on slippery floors help prevent falls, especially when he gets excited. * He absolutely loves lounging on the couch, but should be carefully supervised while up there. * A safe home environment without sharp corners, clutter, or obstacles helps him move around more easily. Trevor may be a little wobbly, but his happiness, resilience, and love for life make him truly special. He is looking for a patient, loving forever family who will appreciate his unique charm and give him the safe, cozy home he deserves. A FTA contract is required. BITEY!**update** Wrigley is also known as 'The destroyer of anything fluffy' He delights in rendering all soft and fluffy items flat and unusable! no Toy or bed is safe. Also, this boy is stubborn and not responsive to kissy invites to 'go outside'. Wrigley was surrendered by his family with a small 'tumor' on his back. He had become 'bitey'. (I would too, if allowed to suffer the pain of being MATTED TO THE SKIN!) We took him from the shelter and he went straight to our vet. It wasn't a tumor. THEY were cysts. He had 5 large cysts that had been allowed to grow unchecked. He was badly matted and required sedation grooming. While he was under, he also got a badly needed dental! All 5 cysts were removed and he is healing nicely. Wrigley is a bit of a loner, preferring to chill in a quiet room. He gets along with other dogs, but does not seem to enjoy their company, he does not engage in play or other activities. We believe he will do best with an experienced dog owner with no other dogs in the home. Dolly’s Story A local street-dog advocate found this precious girl in one of the most neglected parts of town, Sunnyside, a place known for its deep poverty and heartbreaking suffering. Dolly had been left to die. Matted to the skin, swarming with fleas, and starving, she was barely hanging on. She needed help, and we immediately said yes. Once Dolly was bathed and shaved, the full extent of her condition became clear. She was severely emaciated, weighing under 10 pounds when she should weigh at least 15. Every bone in her back and hips was visible. We started her on a careful re-feeding plan with high-calorie puppy food and added liver and pro-biotics to boost her nutrition. She received a full veterinary exam, but she was too fragile to receive vaccines at that time. Dolly is now slowly — but steadily — gaining weight. She’s been dewormed, and once she’s stronger, she’ll be ready for her spay and dental. She is not housebroken yet, but we are actively working on that. Despite everything she’s endured, Dolly is gentle, loving, and makes the perfect little bed buddy. Her spirit is soft, sweet, and resilient — she just needed someone to care. Dolly’s journey isn’t finished yet, but she is safe, loved, and finally getting the chance she always deserved.
