Hi, I’m Malone! I’m a chill, couch-loving guy with excellent taste in comfy dog beds—I like to rotate my lounging spots and occasionally perch on the top of the couch to supervise kitchen activities. I’m fully potty trained, don’t mark, and I’ve mastered an important life skill: if I sit very politely after a potty break, treats magically appear (I may demonstrate this skill repeatedly just to be helpful). I’m friendly with people and get along great with other dogs my size or smaller. I’m especially gentle with senior pups and sleep quietly through the night, usually on the couch or beside the bed—though I do hop up in the morning to say hi. I love sniffy adventures at the park and arboretum, handle stairs like a pro, and enjoy cuddling on the couch once I’m invited. I’m food-motivated, not possessive, and a fast learner who enjoys enrichment puzzles and learning new things. I’m still working on a couple of manners, but with patience, guidance, and a cozy place to land, I’ll be a loyal, affectionate companion who’s always happy to sit for a treat—or a snuggle.

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.All dogs listed here are available for adoption from Yorkie Rescue Houston.  Our goal is to ensure our rescued pets go to their forever home and never end up back in the system.  To that end, an application is required on all potential adopters.   Our adoption fee varies by dog.  We accept electronic funds via VENMO or Zelle, or cash only. donate@yorkierescuehouston.org or, if you prefer: our fundraising platform, Zeffy Puppies too young to be spayed/neutered are available for Foster-to-Adopt only.  A FTA contract is required.   Cora was surrendered to BARC animal shelter to be euthanized by her 'family'  They were BYB (breeders) who had no problem making money off her puppies but didn't have ANY money to get this little momma the medical care she needed after birthing puppies and presented with a prolapsed uterus. In true greeder fashion, they kept the puppies and threw mom in the trash. We immediately tagged/pulled her and drove her straight to our vet who graciously stayed late to perform her emergency spay.   Her life was save and her recovery is going well. Dolly had been left to die. Matted to the skin, swarming with fleas, and starving, she was barely hanging on. She needed help, and we immediately said yes. Once Dolly was bathed and shaved, the full extent of her condition became clear. She was severely emaciated, weighing under 10 pounds when she should weigh at least 15. Every bone in her back and hips was visible. We started her on a careful re-feeding plan with high-calorie puppy food and added liver and pro-biotics to boost her nutrition. She received a full veterinary exam, but she was too fragile to receive vaccines at that time. Dolly is now slowly — but steadily — gaining weight. She’s been dewormed, and once she’s stronger, she’ll be ready for her spay and dental. She is not housebroken yet, but we are actively working on that. Despite everything she’s endured, Dolly is gentle, loving, and makes the perfect little bed buddy. Her spirit is soft, sweet, and resilient — she just needed someone to care.
