Story
Dutton is being fostered in PA. He is making good progress with housebreaking! Dutton is a sweet, gentle, slightly timid little man who is going to make a wonderful addition to some lucky family. He is very easy-going and loves to sit with his person. His transformation since first coming into his foster home has been remarkable! He was able to get into the vet quickly to have a dental with about 10 teeth removed and then, after a little recovery time, a much needed double enucleation, which means his eyes were removed. As he recovered, a completely different personality began to appear. Instead of being shut down and not reacting to verbal interactions, he started following his foster mom around the house, sniffing and exploring his environment and even barking when meals were being prepared. Dutton is happy to sleep in a dog bed on the floor but really enjoys a lap so hopefully his new family will like to cuddle. Dutton has many foster siblings, male and female dogs, big and small, and he is very indifferent with all of them. He also shows no interest in the two cats he lives with. Dutton eats kibble soaked in water and he has a super appetite. He is ok in the car and does better traveling in a dog bed with sides to help him feel secure. His foster mom works full time and part time jobs which works for Dutton since he is a great nap-taker, but he cannot make it several hours without pottying in the house. He is kept in the kitchen where it's ok if he has an accident. He certainly understands that being outside means it's potty time. It's anticipated that if Dutton is able to have a potty break every 3-4 hours he will catch on quickly to eliminating outside. He has actually shown subtle signs indicating that he has to go that his foster mom is just picking up on. This boy deserves a loving forever home with a ton of one on one time. BDRA has voted against the use of electrical fencing effective immediately.

Story
Meet Chip! Hello there, my name is Chip. I'm a sweet, handsome little golden oldie, and I weigh just a little over 10 pounds. I had a super loving human and fur sibling, but my mama passed away, and not long after, my bff passed away, too. I've been through a lot in the last couple of months, but now I'm ready to find my forever home, where I will be loved for who I am. I get along with other dogs, but sometimes I don't like sharing my human's lap with other fur friends. Having a friend or two in my new home wouldn't be bad, but I'd rather stop there. I also met a cat at the vet's office, and I was fine with it, but I haven't lived in a house with one since I've been at Albert's. I get along well with every human I meet, but because I can't see or hear too well anymore, I think I probably shouldn't live with smaller kiddos. I'm at the point in my life where I like calm and quiet. I'm trained to use pee pads, and foster mom is in the process of helping me learn that I should go outside to do my business. Since my human was sick for a while, going outside wasn't a thing, so I just need to have my old memory refreshed. I don't have any teeth left, so you'll catch my tongue hanging out of my mouth often, which just gives me a bit of character. I have early kidney disease, so I eat special food for that. Sometimes I like the wet kind, and sometimes I like the kibble soaked in water. I feel like a super special boy when I want to canned kind because foster mom feeds me with a spoon, so it's easier for me to eat. I enjoy going for short walks, but since it's been a while since my human could take me for them, it's not necessary, and now they are quite short. My little legs get weaker quicker now since I'm an old man, so I take some medicine to help my arthritic joints. Sometimes I'll need some help going up a few steps, and sometimes I won't, but you'll need to be able to pick me up if I do. When foster mom is at work and at bedtime, she puts me in a pack-n-play so no one bothers me while I sleep the day away. It's kind of like a kennel, but a lot more room, and I don't mind it too much. I'm ready to find my retirement home for my golden years, and I hope you are the perfect person for me! *Chip is being fostered in the Green Bay area. Meet MaxMax wasn't always so handsome looking. We didn't even know he had black spots! Max came in to the shelter from a transport. He was looking for a fresh start in life and that included a sprucing up. Thank you to Sarah from Groomed by Sarah for helping Max feel and look better! Max will need a home with no other animals. We get it, after coming from an overcrowded shelter why would you want to share your people?!Max will do best in a home with no children or other animals. Max has stranger dnager issues but if you go slowly he will wiggle his tail into your heart. *meetings are with an approved application Adoption Information ~·Terrier mix·Altered ·Microchipped ·Yearly vaccinations completed ·No dogs or cats·No kids
