Story
Meet Koda B 🐾 Koda is the ultimate best buddy, ready to make someone feel like the most special person in the world! Just over a year old, this affectionate, playful, and snuggly boy is full of energy and joy. He loves being part of the action, whether it’s hiking, running, chasing balls, tossing toys around, or even body-slamming pillows for fun. He also knows how to slow down and enjoy the quieter moments, whether that’s lounging in the window watching the world go by, cuddling on the couch, or joining in on a relaxing crafternoon. Koda started out a little nervous and tried to look tough, but the moment he stepped out of his carrier, his brave façade melted into pure sweetness. Now, he’s confident, loving, and loyal, lighting up whenever he sees the people caring for him. He thrives on human companionship and would adore an active adult who can give him plenty of adventures, love, and attention. Koda is great with other dogs, taking cues from them on how to behave, and he’s respectful with cats too. He would do best with a confident dog buddy or a human who can spend time teaching him the ropes and sharing lots of playtime. Koda is crate-trained and absolutely loves having his cozy spot to relax and feel safe. He’s making great progress with potty training and is currently wearing a stylish belly band indoors as a precaution while he perfects his routine. This clever boy already knows how to fetch a ball and is eager to learn even more skills with the right guidance. He is a total sweetheart who loves food, enjoys spa days, and with his growing poodle coat, will need regular grooming to keep him looking his best. Koda is playful, affectionate, and endlessly loyal, always ready to snuggle the cold away or join in on a playful adventure. One of his favorite pastimes is lounging in the window for his very own “outdoor TV,” happily watching the world go by. If you’ve been looking for a buddy who will fluff your pillows, play happily by your side, and shower you with love, Koda B is your guy. This boy is a total dream, and his fosters say they’d honestly keep him forever if they could. Koda is ready to find his perfect human and fill their life with fun, love, and endless snuggles. Could that be you? 💛 Fostered in Mondovi, WI. Apply at tailsofhopewi.org

Story
Bella is the type of dog that you would see in the movies, being carried around in her own personalized designer purse with her cute little head poking out. She's tiny, she's sweet, she has curls so gorgeous that they could make Beyoncé jealous, and she would love to be all yours! Bella is current on her vaccines, microchipped, and soon-to-be spayed. 3 words that describe her: Calm, loveable, affectionate Staff and volunteers say that Bella is certainly the big sister of the two siblings (Despite being smaller than her brother) She's a bit shy at first, but just absolutely loves any and all affection once she meets you. She's definitely a lap dog! Activity level/Energy Level: (1-10): 2/10 Housetraining Status: Working on it, but with a consistent routine she should have it down in no time. She should do well in a home: With kids and dogs of all ages given proper introductions. We are unsure how she would do with cats. Her favorite activities are: Lounging, giving kisses, and staring up at you with love as you scratch her. Things I need work on are: Confidence on leash, basic commands, and housetraining. My adoption fee is: $300 *If you are interested in adopting, please start by filling out an application available on our website and email it to us. https://www.couleehumane.com/adopt-an-animal

Story
Hi there, my name is Prince! I'm a 1-year-old male miniature poodle mix. I am current on my vaccines, heartworm tested, neutered, and microchipped. 3 words that describe me: Shy, Affectionate, Adorable Things staff and volunteers have to say about me: I came to CRHS with my sister Bella. The shelter environment has been scary for me, but I've been still been so friendly with volunteers and staff. If you're looking for a handsome little man to keep you company, I'm for you! Activity level/Energy Level: (1-10): 3/10 Housetraining Status: I am working on it, with a consistent schedule and lots of praise I should learn quick! I should do well in a home: I lived with children in my previous home, so I should do well with children of all ages given slow, respectful introductions and supervision. I lived with my sister Bella, so I should do well with other dogs given proper introductions and time to adjust. my friends at CRHS are unsure how I'd do with cats. My favorite activities are: Getting affection from my humans and being with my sister Bella. Story
About Me: Name: Natalia Breed (or best guess): Mini Goldendoodle Approximate Age: 8 yrs Gender: Female Approximate Weight: 25 lb Adoption Fee: $495 Requirements: Patient adopter, fenced yard and another dog is best Why In Rescue: puppy mill survivor Profile:   Natalia came from a commercial breeder/puppy farmer who was no longer going to use her for breeding.  Natalia gets along with other dogs her size and is learning to put her puppy mill days behind her.  Our volunteers have been working with her to try to get her more comfortable on a leash and with being handled.  She has lived many years without positive human contact, so it is going to take her time to want the affection and touch from people.  She will need work on walking on a leash and on housetraining as she had never lived in a home.  If interested in Natalia or one of our other dogs, please fill out the pre-adoption application. Dogs from commercial breeders are generally undersocialized (often very scared/shy/skittish) and probably never lived in a house.  They will need to learn things like how to walk on a leash, go up stairs, and what things like a television are.  They need a patient adopter who will give them the time they need to adjust and to learn to trust people.  Every baby step forward needs to be celebrated, and the dog needs to be accepted for who they are at each step.  Some dogs can adjust quickly and learn how to be a loved pet pretty easily.  Others can take a long time to even be comfortable with things like walking through the house and being in the same room as a person.  No matter how far and how fast the breeder dogs progress, they are wonderful dogs and deserve a great home after their life on the puppy farm.  A fence or at least a secure fenced in potty area is highly recommended for the dog's safety, and may be required for some dogs.  Another small dog in the house can also help many former breeders adjust faster to life in a home, and also may be required in some cases.  We do put the needs of the dog's first, so it is nothing personal if we determine a particular dog isn't suitable for your specific home and living situation. If considering adopting a former breeding dog, the following article is good to read to help you understand the special needs these dogs may have.  http://nowisconsinpuppymills.com/mill-survivors.html If interested in adoption, the first step is filling out the pre-adoption application at http://www.bichonrescues.com/pre-adoption-form-dog  If link isn't clickable, please copy/paste or visit http://www.bichonrescues.com.  Please note, filling out inquiry forms on Petfinder or Adoptapet and/or their application forms does not constitute an application for one of our dogs.  Priority in responding to inquires and applications is always to the applications filled out on our website, time constraints limit the number of other inquires we can reply to. We do our best to evaluate the dogs while they are with us, but they sometimes act different in the shelter environment than they do in a home.  Many times we do not know the actual breed/mix or age of the dog, in that case we use our best guess as to breed and age.   We are located in Mukwonago, WI.  Adopters must come to us, we do not ship our dogs.  Please do not apply for a dog until you are ready to adopt.  Once an application is approved you will be notified by email to make an appointment to meet the dog.  All dogs are seen by appointment only. The adoption fee through Bichon and Little Buddies Rescue is $495 for most adults and up to $650 for puppies which includes Wi State Sales Tax.  Included in this fee is your new companion who will be spayed/neutered, have a current Certificate of Veterinary Inspection (as required by state law), current on age appropriate vaccinations, heartworm tested (if old enough) and started on preventative, microchipped, and given a general wormer.  Other medical needs will also have been taken care of, such as dentals and treating ear infections.  To assist you and your new pet in adjusting to life together, you may chose to take an 8 week age appropriate obedience training course at For Pet's Sake Dog Training in Mukwonago, WI for $100 (up to $260 value).  You may opt to take Puppy Kindergarten, Adult Beginners, or Small Dogs Big Hearts.  You must register for the class within 90 days of adoption for the reduced fee.  For more information on the classes visit www.forpetssake.cc  More important information: ***We are a Wisconsin based rescue and do not ship our pets.  If you are considering adoption you must be willing to drive to meet and adopt the pet, as well as bring the pet back to us if the adoption doesn't work.  We adopt primarily in WI and IL, but will consider applicants in MN, IA, and MI.*** ***Please do not set up an appointment to meet the animals until you are ready to take your pet home.  If the meeting results in a match, you can often take the dog/cat home the same day or within a couple days if the medical care hasn't been completed.  We are not able to hold pets for adopters beyond this time.  Thanks for understanding.*** ***While we hope all of our adoptions lead to permanent homes for the animals we place, sometimes things just don't work out.  We do have a 30 day trial period.  For the first 30 days, if you or Bichon and Little Buddies decide that the adoption isn't a good match for either the humans or the pet, the adoption fee will be refunded minus $100 within 30 days of the return of the dog.  Bichon and Little Buddies also requires adopters to return the pet to us at any time that they are unable or unwilling to care for the animal anymore.*** ***We do not show dogs without an appointment.  The first step in adoption is filling out the pre-adoption application at http://www.bichonrescues.com/pre-adoption-form-dog  Please do not call/email until AFTER you have filled out an application.*** Bichon and Little Buddies is a State Licensed Rescue # 268555-DS March 7, 2026, 6:42 pm

Story
Meet Pickles 🥒 Pickles is a happy, sweet, and gentle pup who’s ready to find a family to call his own. He’s the kind of dog who loves the simple things in life like squeaky toys, belly rubs, pets, and curling up for some cuddles with his people. Pickles walks very nicely on a leash and enjoys getting out for walks and exploring the world around him. He’s also dog-friendly and does well with kids, making him a great companion for many types of homes. However, Pickles would prefer a home without cats. His foster family is currently working with him on crate training. He doesn’t love going into his crate just yet and may take a few minutes to settle, but they’re helping him learn that it’s a safe and positive space. With a little patience and consistency, he’s making progress. Pickles is doing well with house training as long as he’s kept on a consistent schedule and taken outside regularly. He doesn’t currently signal when he needs to go out, so routine is key for his success. Overall, Pickles is a loving, joyful pup who just wants to be close to his people and soak up all the affection he can get. With his sweet personality and gentle nature, he’s sure to bring a lot of happiness to the lucky family who adopts him. 🐾 Fostered in Weston, WI. To apply to adopt, visit tailsofhopewi.org. Please note donations using the SPONSOR ME tab on PetFinder will not go to Tails of Hope-WI.

Story
Meet Teddy! Teddy is almost 4 years old and is a Poodle mix (unknown exact mixture) Teddy was surrendered after his owner became homeless. Unfortunately before that, it had been a long time since Teddy had seen a groomer, and was incredibly matted, dirty and overgrown. We had a volunteer groomer come in and spend quite a good amount of time getting him back into good condition so that he could be ready for a new beginning! Teddy is known to do well around other dogs, cats and children. That being said, he's been through a lot of change lately, so his new family should expect to take things slowly with him so as not to overwhelm him too much. He is incredibly loyal and shouldn't take long to bond with his new humans. Teddy is active enough to enjoy a walk everyday, but has a nice moderate energy level and loves to be by people, so he'd also be a good fit for someone who wants an easy-going companion. Teddy is potty trained and does well in his kennel at the shelter, but may need a refresher course while he learns the new potty routine. Unfortunately car rides are a bit stressful for him, so he may need help learning that they're a positive experience. Aside from not wanting his toenails trimmed, Teddy did well for his grooming and his new family should expect to provide this every 6-8 weeks so that he can remain happy and healthy! Teddy is such a sweet, quiet and lovable little fella who can't wait to settle into his new forever. If you think that's you, follow our link below! All meet n' greets are BY APPOINTMENT ONLY after an adoption application has been generally approved: monroecountydogshelter.com Teddy is neutered & fully vaccinated. His adoption fee is $240.00
