Meet Hutch!
Fostered in Collingwood
Hutch is a handsome Schnauzer who made the journey from Mexico and he's already proving what an incredible companion he is. We know he's an adult dog, and while his exact age is unknown (we estimate him to be 5 years old) he has all the wonderful qualities of a mature, well-adjusted companion. At approximately 17 lbs he's the perfect size for adventures during the day and cuddles on the couch at night.
Hutch has a fun, goofy personality that will keep you smiling. He's playful, affectionate, and absolutely loves being with his people. Whether he's making you laugh with his silly antics or curling up beside you for a snuggle, he's happiest when he's part of the family.
He's settled into home life beautifully and has been an absolute pleasure to foster. Hutch is generally a quiet dog, although he's recently discovered his voice and will happily let you know when he'd like a little extra attention! He may also bark if someone walks by the backyard, but otherwise he's calm, relaxed, and very well behaved in the house.
Like many playful dogs, Hutch can be a little mouthy when he's excited during playtime, but it's all part of his fun-loving personality and is easily redirected with a toy. He could also use a little help polishing his leash manners—he does pull on walks, but only because he's so excited to sniff every blade of grass and say hello to everyone he meets!
One of Hutch's best qualities is how easy he is to live with. He's happy to sleep in his crate and settles in beautifully, but he's also been enjoying sleeping on the bed, where he snoozes through the night without waking anyone up. He's truly been a dream houseguest.

-Great with kids.
-Gets along well with other dogs, although he'd much rather spend his time with his people.
-Shows no resource guarding.
-Is calm and well behaved in the home.
-Loves cuddles and being close to his humans.
-Is funny, playful, and full of personality.
-Because of his terrier instincts, a home without cats would be the best fit.
In the short period of time he has been in foster care, Hutch has shown us what a sweet, easygoing, and loving dog he is. He's adapted beautifully to home life and would make a wonderful addition to almost any family. If you're looking for a loyal best friend who's equal part cuddle bug, adventure buddy, and comedian, Hutch might just be your perfect match.
