Story
Now Hiring: Lap Heater & Backyard Patrol. DEWEY is overqualified!Meet Dewey, a 3-year-old Schnauzer/mix who’s ready to fill not one, but two important roles in your life: professional lap warmer and certified backyard security guard! This handsome boy is full of spunk and loves nothing more than running, romping, and showing off his zoomies. At times, Dewey can be a little hesitant with new people, but once he decides you’re part of his crew, his affectionate side shines through - and that tail won’t stop wagging! After playtime, Dewey is all about companionship, pets, and curling up by your side.Dewey came to WCAS as a stray; however, we believe he likely came from a home with many other dogs, and because of that, he didn’t always get the care and consistency he needed. Since arriving at WCAS, he has made great progress, but he will still need some patience and guidance from his future adopter! Dewey can sometimes be protective of his food and, at times, his toys. With understanding, consistency and the help of a patient and knowledgeable adopter, he will continue to grow into the wonderful companion we know he can be! Given Dewey`s needs, we believe he is best suited for a home with no children.Although Dewey came to WCAS as a stray and gets along well with other dogs, we believe he is truly best suited for a home of his own with no other animals. This will allow him to thrive, settle comfortably, and receive the one-on-one attention he deserves.Dewey is neutered, up-to-date on vaccinations, heartworm negative, and given a flea and tick preventative as well as a heartworm preventive.Apply today - Dewey’s ready to report for duty... and cuddles! Fill out an adoption application on our website or get in touch with us at (920) 279-9795 or wausharacoanimalshelter@gmail.com!

Story
Hi, I'm Rosie and I see you have already read about my brother Riley. I am a one year old wire haired terrier mix, around 40 lbs. I am a sweet girl who loves everyone, although neither my brother nor I have any cat experience. I am a bit shy and I do love to have my "big" brother around so would love to go to a home with him if at all possible. Just think - double the love and fun! I am sure he said that we came from the streets so there are lots of new skills we are still learning but both of us are super sweet and are so excited to find this thing they call a "home". *All of The Right to Live dogs are fostered locally in San Antonio Texas and will be transported to other states to their new families upon adoption. We believe fostering dogs and not having them decompress in a kennelled environment is more beneficial for the dogs and builds their trust and companionship in a family situation. Adoption fee includes transportation costs, previous/current medical treatment (spay/neuter, etc.) and a health certificate for cross-state travel*
We'll also keep you updated on Riley's adoption status with email updates.

Story
Hi there, I'm Riley and I am Rosie's brother. I am a one year old wire haired terrier around 40 lbs. I am a sweet boy who is good with the peoples of all sizes and with other dogs when I get the chance for a proper introduction. I don't have any experience with those cat things, but being a Terrier mix, I might not be the best fit. I can be a little shy at first but I warm up quickly and then you and I will be fast friends. My sister and I were pulled from the streets and so she is a little needy of her "big" brother so if you would love double the fun we would really like to stay together. *All of The Right to Live dogs are fostered locally in San Antonio Texas and will be transported to other states to their new families upon adoption.
