Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.L eye removalJerzy is a beautiful brindle and white mountain cur mix. She is a perfect medium sized dog with some delicate features in her sweet face and thin legs and weighs just around 45 pounds. In early 2025, Jerzy had surgery to remove her eye due to complications from glaucoma. She has recovered very nicely from this and it no longer affects her health. Jerzy can be slow to open up to new people before she shows her goofy and smart side, but your patience will be rewarded by this lovable girl once she starts to show you her true personality!  Jerzy would love a home with no children and she will be best suited with no kitties. An owner that will love to walk and exercise her daily will enjoy how well she walks on a leash.  She may possibly enjoy the company of an easy-going, playful medium sized male dog as well! A secure yard would be an added bonus for Jerzy as well! Jerzy is super smart and has mastered her basic skills and moved on to trick training!  Jerzy's adoption fee is $250 and includes her spay, microchip, current vaccinations and preventatives plus a free basic training course at Cedar Run Company in Hiawatha.  If you would like to meet Jerzy, please submit an adoption application through our website for consideration, www.Adopthope.org.  Last Hope requires that potential adopters with a history of owning animals demonstrate that they have kept them altered, as indoor pets only and kept current on annual vaccinations/testing.  Our adoption process includes a vet history check and a home visit.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.March 9, 2026, 11:31 am

Story
Hi, I`m Dallas, and I have a very important question.Do you throw? Because I fetch. And unlike some dogs, I actually understand how this game works. You throw the ball. I chase the ball. I bring the ball back. You throw it again. It`s a beautiful system, really.I also know how to sit, wait nicely for treats, and respond when someone redirects me. I`ve even been known to get a little enthusiastic about snacks, but who hasn`t?There`s more to me than my impressive ball-retrieval résumé, though. I`m a genuinely sweet boy who loves affection just as much as playtime. I`ll happily take a break from chasing my beloved ball to enjoy some pets and scratches. I like spending time with my people, whether we`re playing together or simply enjoying each other`s company. Now, I do have a few opinions about how things should work. For starters, I`m not a fan of other dogs getting in my business. I can become reactive when I see them around the shelter or while we`re walking, so I`m going to need someone who understands that keeping a comfortable distance and helping me focus on something else is much better than forcing introductions.Which is why I need a strong owner cause I really like walks! I`m not particularly interested in dragging you down the sidewalk or training for a half marathon. I`d much rather take my time, investigate an interesting patch of grass, sniff something suspicious, and then sniff it again just to be sure. Some dogs want a marathon. I want a sniffari. There`s a whole world of smells out there, and I intend to read every single one of them.I think that`s what makes me such an interesting combination. I`m playful, affectionate, and eager to spend time with people, but I also need someone who respects that I have boundaries. I don`t need someone who expects me to be perfect. I need someone willing to understand me.I`m Dallas. You bring the love, the patience, and a tennis ball. I`ll bring the ball back, and we`ll figure out the rest together.
