Story
This is Whiskey. He's a Catahoula Leopard Dog/Plott Hound with a little bit of lab thrown in for good measure. He was found wandering all alone at the tender age of 3 1/2 months old. The kind people that found him tried unsuccessfully to find his owner, so thinking that he must have been abandoned, brought him to us. He was adopted, then returned after 16 months, for reasons that sound like his only flaw is that he is a young, medium-high energy dog. He's now under just under 2 years old, as sweet as he can be, up to date on vaccines, neutered and microchipped. Whiskey loves to play, walks nicely on a leash, is crate trained, knows most of the basic obedience commands -- sit, lay down, shake, wait, place, leave-it and come. He needs an active family that will take him on long hikes, maybe also has a companion dog that will play run and chase in a fenced area, as he has boundless energy. Whiskey needs direction, and needs to know that he is not the boss of the house, or he WILL assume command! A trainer that worked with him said that he is one of the smartest dogs she has ever worked with! He is good with kids, in fact, is protective of them, and gets nervous if there is rough/rowdy play indoors where the kids might get hurt. (Or maybe he's jealous that he can't be rowdy in the house, too.)
