Story
This girl was found as a stray and her owners refused to come pick her up so she is in search of another home. She is a sweet lady, a bit shy, but friendly. She is out of any puppy energy phase but does still like to play and she does get the zoomies. She was house-trained so would need to relearn it. She does well in a car and is okay on a leash. She does not get along with smaller dogs and probably not a fan of cats. She will need time to warm up to a person but is just a sweetheart when she knows you! She would be wonderful as a walking companion and lounge buddy. She is in Tennessee but can be transported to you through Rescue Riders.

Story
Meet Sierra! This sensational 68-pound mountain cur/Anatolian shepherd mix is four years old and has the best smile around! Sadly, she is having a hard time adjusting to the kennel and WE NEED A FOSTER FOR HER ASAP! Before coming to GLDR, Sierra lived in a foster home and did great with the other dogs that she lived with. Not only is she house-trained, she's also crate-trained and is as affectionate as they come. She sleeps quietly through the night in her crate and needs a fenced-in yard or tie out to keep her safe as she enjoys being outside. Sierra longs to be near you and is an ideal companion. We call her our big ole snuggle baby! She tends to be pretty laid back, but will benefit from daily exercise and continued training. She knows how to sit and takes her treats gently. She's quickly become a volunteer favorite and we promised her to find her the best family around! Based on our evaluation, we feel Sierra would do best in an active, but predictable home with adults or families with kids ages 12 and up. We feel she may have the ability to live in a home with other animals as she has done so previously. We are happy to do a meet and greet with your family fur baby. If you think Sierra could be the perfect pup for you, head to greatlakesdogrescue.com today and submit your application for our darling girl!

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Meet Jenny, our latest arrival at the Mikey & Me kennels for Happy Days Rescue. Jenny is believed to be a Mountain Cur mix, she’s 4-5 years old, she has a beautiful brindled coat, and she weighs about 45 pounds.   Jenny came to us very afraid and she wasn't sure how to trust anyone. We allowed her the time she needed to decompress and she intently watched the other dogs going through their daily routines.  Within a few days Jenny started coming close enough to lick your hand and even give kisses to some of our volunteers. She’s still more timid of men than women but she allows me to take her outside when I’m her only option. Jenny had her tail tucked when we would take her outside but she soon connected with Wendy, one of our 6 month old hound puppies, and when she’s with Wendy her tail is up and wagging. She met Wendy’s brother, Smalls, in the same manner. I believe Jenny will continue to build trust once she understands that she’s safe now. Jenny has her first Vet appt. On Thursday, July 17th. She will be vaccinated, be given a heart worm test, and she will be microchipped for her safety. If you would like to meet Jenny, please submit an adoption application under her name at happydaysdogandcatrescue.org.   Happy Days Dog and Cat Rescue microchips all dogs and cats before adoption. Microchips are implanted between the shoulder blades and are another form of identification should the animal get lost. The microchips are registered to    Happy Days Dog and Cat Rescue. The adopter's information is added once the adoption is complete. The adopter is responsible for a $19.99/Year registration fee or a $45.00/Lifetime registration fee to change information.    Dogs and Cats still need to have collar with tags should they get lost.
