Story
She is located in Tennessee but can be transported to you through Rescue Riders. This girl was found as a stray and her owners refused to come pick her up so she is in search of another home. She is a sweet lady, a bit shy, but friendly. She is out of any puppy energy phase but does still like to play and she does get the zoomies. She was house-trained, does well in a car and does awesome on a leash. She does not get along with smaller dogs and is probably not a fan of cats. She is a sweetheart with people and is ready to go! She would be wonderful as a walking companion and lounge buddy.

Story
Breed: Mountain Cur Mix Age: 5 months (as of 11/29/25) Gender: Spayed Female Adult Weight Guess: around 45-50lbs Energy Level: High - puppy Adoption Fee: $300 Am I good with: Cats: We can test Dogs: Yes (meet and greet required) Children: Yes, puppies require proper socialization About me: Mae is as warm and bright as her name, a sweet and friendly young girl with a curious spirit and a heart full of love. She’s playful, eager to explore, and always happy to be near her people. Like any growing pup, she’ll need continued help with her potty, leash, and crate training, but she’s eager to learn and even quicker to bond. Mae is ready to make a forever home feel complete. This dog has been at ARP since: 11/29/25 - The Animal Rescue Project (www.animalrescueproject.org) is committed to the best possible veterinary care for the pets it rescues and it is looking for adopters who will be similarly committed. Adoptions are NOT first come, first served! We seek to choose the best fit for the approved adopter and pet. Please understand that these animals are still new to us and their needs and requirements can change at any time as we learn more about them. We will try our best to get them updated online as soon as possible. All dogs and puppies are given a general check-up when they enter our program. They receive medication to remove any intestinal parasites (worms), fleas, and ticks they may have. Dogs greater than six months of age are checked for heartworm. If heartworm positive, the Animal Rescue Project treats the disease. Dogs and pups receive all age-appropriate vaccinations for distemper, and dogs greater than four months of age are also vaccinated for rabies, in compliance with State of Michigan laws. All dogs are also microchipped. Most dogs and older puppies are spayed or neutered before adoption. In the case of puppies not old enough to be safely sterilized, a $50 deposit is required at the time of adoption and is refunded to the adopter with proof of sterilization. The Animal Rescue Project requires every adopter to establish an active relationship with a veterinarian no later than 10 days after adoption. Adopters will receive a plan for routine veterinary care at the time of adoption and are expected to work with their vet to complete the plan.

Story
Meet Rossi! ZERO APPLICATIONS :-( FOSTER UPDATES BELOW!! Hubba Hubba here comes 61 pounds of mountain cur magic! Rossi is three years old and is ready to start his life with a family that truly deserves him! Rossi is currently enjoying some R&R in a wonderful foster home and we are excited to share all we've learned about him! Rossi is house-trained and has done well having free roam of the house. He's starting to enjoy his toys and plushies are his favorite. This handsome boy is fond of all sorts of treats and takes them very gently. His foster mom is able to take both toys and treats away with no issue. A fan of the outdoors, Rossi does very well on his leash and loves playing in the snow! He rides well in the car and is ready to join you on the road. He does seem to be fond of chasing squirrels so a fenced-in yard or tie would be best to keep him safe. Inside the house, Rossi is as chill as they get. He enjoys lounging around the house and can nap with the best of them! Rossi has a tender side that you just have to appreciate for yourself. He can be a bit timid with new people, but will soon be happily taking treats from his new friends. He will seek out affection on his terms and once he gives you that first kiss, you'll be hooked! Rossi will benefit from continued training and daily exercise in his new home. At the end of the day, he sleeps quietly through the night. Based on our evaluation, we feel Rossi would do best in calm, predictable home with adults or families with kids ages 12 and up. He may have the capacity to live in a home with other dogs his size and low-key energy. We are happy to do a meet and greet with your family fur baby! A home free of cats and small animals would be best. If you think Rossi could be the guy for you, head to greatlakesdogrescue.com today and submit your application for our deserving gentleman!

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.  Personality: Jenny is sweet, loving, and very affectionate once she feels safe and she will be a great choice for someone looking for companionship. She can be shy at first, but with patience and gentle encouragement, she blossoms into a playful, loyal companion. At Mikey & Me, she surprises everyone with her spry, sassy side when playing with younger dogs. Her perfect day? A little playtime followed by cuddling on the couch—she’s a true Velcro dog!  Ideal Home: Jenny will thrive in a calm, consistent, more serene home environment. We’re looking for a person or family that’s willing to work with us on placing Jenny into a home slowly, making sure she’s not afraid. We’ve done this with other timid dogs with tremendous success. Other friendly pets are a bonus, but she’ll do fine with scheduled social time if she’s the only dog. She naturally gravitates toward women but warms up to men very well with time and trust. A home with dog-savvy kids over 12 would be best, as sudden activity might startle her.  Health, Care, & Appearance: • Needs moderate daily exercise (and a little help shedding a few pounds!) • Fully Vaccinated, spayed, and microchipped • A gentle face, soft fuzzy coat, and stunning brindle stripes with merle spots  Location & Adoption Info: Apply to meet Jenny by submitting an adoption application to  happydaysdogandcatrescue.org . Jenny is currently be fostered at Mikey & Me in Chelsea, MI.   Happy Days Dog and Cat Rescue microchips all dogs and cats before adoption. Microchips are implanted between the shoulder blades and are another form of identification should the animal get lost. The microchips are registered to    Happy Days Dog and Cat Rescue. The adopter's information is added once the adoption is complete. The adopter is responsible for a $19.99/Year registration fee or a $45.00/Lifetime registration fee to change information.    Dogs and Cats still need to have collar with tags should they get lost. Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.January 9, 2026, 7:55 am
