Story
Hi. My name is Cowboy.  I may be a cur mix but I act like a beagle too.  I am eight years old and I weigh about forty pounds.  I think the pictures make me look bigger than I am.  I was surrendered to the rescue when my family was moving away and said they couldn't take me with them.  I just don't understand that and was very confused at first.  Now, I am over them and ready to move on with my life.    I am a scaredy cat, playful and loyal to my family.  I talk a lot if someone comes around I don't know and I can sound quite fierce.  Actually I am a big chicken and will stand behind you or run to my crate, please don't tell anyone.  I love toys, lots of them.  I have always lived in a home with a fenced yard. I went to training classes and know all my basic obedience and how to walk with a harness on a leash. I like walks. I came to the rescue with two problems we have been working on, first I love food and treats.  I should weigh about fourty pounds but it's hard for me to hold that weight because I will eat anything you give me! So they are watching how much food I eat and I am trying to get more exercise, did I say I love food and treats?  Second I tested positive for a tick borne illness called Ehlrlicha so I have been treated for that.  I will always test positive, but I have no symptoms and it's not causing me any problems now.  Just saying so you know. I like other dogs and would be happy in a home with a playmate or just you.  I don't bother cats so they are fine too. I am going to match the energy level of your home, busy or chill is just fine. I am housetrained.    I have been neutered, microchipped, vaccinated and tested negative for heartworms. My adoption fee is 150.00.  If you are interested in adopting me please go to dogsasfamily.org and fill out an adoption application for me, Cowboy.  I could protect you and be your friend if you can do the same for me.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.December 23, 2025, 10:04 pm

Story
Meet Rosie Rosie is a striking, high-energy girl we believe is a Catahoula Leopard Dog. She’s built for action and loves to run, leap, and play. Athletic and powerful, she’s happiest with room to move and a job to do. Rosie is amazing with people—gentle, affectionate, and unbothered by just about anything. You can even put your hands in her mouth—she’ll just nudge them out with her tongue. She loves cuddles, squishes, and being close to her humans. She’s got a strong alpha personality and a high prey drive, so she’s not a match for small dogs or other small animals. However, she could do well with other large dogs who can handle her energy and play style. Ideally, she’d be in a single-dog home where she can be the center of attention—or with a confident big dog who speaks her language. Rosie listens well, bonds fast, and is tough, loyal, and full of heart. If you’ve got the space and energy for a powerhouse cuddlebug, Rosie’s ready to be your shadow.
