Story
Hi. My name is Cowboy.  I may be a cur mix but I act like a beagle too.  I am seven years old and I weigh about forty pounds.  I think the pictures make me look bigger than I am.  I was surrendered to the rescue when my family was moving away and said they couldn't take me with them.  I just don't understand that and was very confused at first.  Now, I am over them and ready to move on with my life.    I am a scaredy cat, playful and loyal to my family.  I talk a lot if someone comes around I don't know and I can sound quite fierce.  Actually I am a big chicken and will stand behind you or run to my crate, please don't tell anyone.  I love toys, lots of them.  I have always lived in a home with a fenced yard. I went to training classes and know all my basic obedience and how to walk with a harness on a leash. I like walks. I came to the rescue with two problems we have been working on, first I love food and treats.  I should weigh about fourty pounds but it's hard for me to hold that weight because I will eat anything you give me! So they are watching how much food I eat and I am trying to get more exercise, did I say I love food and treats?  Second I tested positive for a tick borne illness called Ehlrlicha so I have been treated for that.  I will always test positive, but I have no symptoms and it's not causing me any problems now.  Just saying so you know. I like other dogs and would be happy in a home with a playmate or just you.  I don't bother cats so they are fine too. I am going to match the energy level of your home, busy or chill is just fine. I am housetrained.    I have been neutered, microchipped, vaccinated (including influenza) and tested negative for heartworms. My adoption fee is 150.00.  If you are interested in adopting me please go to dogsasfamily.org and fill out an adoption application for me, Cowboy.  I could protect you and be your friend if you can do the same for me.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.April 27, 2024, 12:07 am

Monica loves being on the go and exploring the great outdoors with her human. She would like to be an only child and would do best at home with active adults who will take her everywhere they go and help her shed a few extra pounds she has gained in her time in boarding. She has been through an eight-week training program at Friends For Folks in Lexington, OK, and now knows all her basic commands.

Meet Mabel - The Playful, Independent Pup Seeking Adventure! ? Mabel is a sweet, smart 2-year-old girl ready to find her forever home. In February, this loving pup gave birth to 10 adorable puppies, and now she's looking for a family to call her own. While she gets along well with other dogs, Mabel can be a bit protective of her toys. This independent pup loves to soak up the sun and go on long, invigorating walks to burn off her boundless energy. She'd be the perfect adventure buddy for an active human who enjoys hiking, campfires, and cozy Netflix nights. Despite her independent streak, Mabel adores belly rubs and snuggling up close to her favorite people. She may think she's a lap dog, but her big personality means she needs a parent who can provide her with plenty of playtime and enrichment. If you're looking for a loyal, intelligent companion to keep you on your toes, Mabel might be the pup for you.
