Sometimes the dogs who make the biggest impression aren’t the quiet ones; they’re the ones who greet you with their whole body and make sure you know they’re VERY happy to see you!
Meet Red Rover
Red absolutely LOVES people. When someone walks through the door, Red is excited to say hello and may come running over with his entire body wagging! He has a big personality when it comes to his favorite humans and is always ready to be part of the action.
One thing Red is still working on? His manners! He can get so excited greeting people that he wants to jump up and say hello, so continued training and consistent boundaries will help him learn that four paws on the floor gets him all the attention he’s looking for.
Once the excitement settles, you’ll discover an incredibly affectionate, playful and loyal boy who simply loves being with his people.
Red is happiest being part of his person’s everyday life. He doesn’t need anything fancy a walk, a comfy bed, a few toys or chew bones, some quiet time together, and plenty of love are enough to make this boy happy.
And when it comes to affection? Red has plenty to give.
He has been in foster care long enough for us to really get to know him, and we’ve watched him grow tremendously. He currently lives successfully with four other dogs and has shown us that with patience, structure and proper introductions, he can continue to make wonderful progress.
That said, Red does have some things his forever family will need to understand.
He can be unsure around dogs his own size or larger and may be selective about his canine friends. He can be a rough player with smaller dogs and sometimes forgets just how big he is, so supervision and reminders are important. He is house-trained and walks well on leash. He is nervous around cars. He settles beautifully in his kennel, although given the choice, he’d much rather be curled up on a comfy bed beside his people. He is still working on his greeting manners and will need continued training to help with jumping up when he gets excited.
Red isn’t looking for someone who expects perfection.He’s looking for someone who understands that dogs can have quirks, things to work on, and still be absolutely amazing companions.
Once Red lets you into his world, you’ll have a friend who wants to be by your side, a companion who will soak up your attention, and a sweet boy who has so much love left to give.
We know Red’s person is out there.
