Story
If you are looking for a resilient and intelligent girl puppy to adopt then look no further.  This girl is called Topaz and at 11 weeks of age she is 13 pounds and not really big but SOLID.   From what we know about dog breeds she is a Black Mouth Cur mix....mostly Black Mouth Cur and she is amazing.  She is social and seeks the wonderful attention of the people around her.  Topaz is especially drawn to young children.  She is so young and so impressionable but yet the impression she has made on all the adults who encounter her is pretty strong in the category of 'exceptional personality'.   We love Topaz but what we require for her is very specific.  A good dog owner who has experience and knows how to guide, lead and shape a dog into an obedient and awesomely trained companion.  This girl will outsmart first time dog owners in a sweet way.  She will protect her family and their property and she will be the most devoted companion and sibling to all the children.   She seeks approvals and she will do what it takes to be good in that lane of doing all the right things as a puppy.  She is crate trained, exceptional in exploration of her home and property and she will be potty trained before most puppies.  We expect this girl to grow up to be a large girl but not a giant.  Her weight should be in the 55 pound range and her presence in your family will be loving and life-changing.   Topaz is a rescued pup who has been through early in life challenges.  Through it all, she has stayed loyal and loving to the humans despite early abandonment.  She is a beauty and of great strength and caring.  She is a dog that will take care of her home and people as she becomes a part of the years ahead that make a family remember her as a special dog that made their life better.   If you are interested and seasoned for a very devoted and smart puppy, please write to Critter Cavalry Rescue at ccrtennessee@gmail.com    PLEASE NOTE:  Our dogs are transported from Tennessee to meeting places in the states where we have posted.  Further information about us is given on our Adopt-A-Pet site.  The adoption fees vary and will be provided as well as noted on the application you receive.  Contact us at 615-661-5333 or ccrnewengland@gmail.comNovember 22, 2025, 9:52 pm

Story
Oakley, affectionately known as 'Dottie girl ' by her foster family, has such a sweet, lovable, big personality and is very eager to please!  This Pit/Mountain Curr mix is a total Phoenix that has risen from the fires of neglect, abandonment and even successfully raised her litter of puppies in the woods for the first 10 weeks of life. They were all successfully adopted in the Fall and living wonderful lives of love and commitment from their families.  Oakley is the perfect girl that lives with anyone and everyone that comes her way.  She embraces all people and dogs and she just lives her life with resilience and tolerance.  This girl might not be a Golden Retriever in looks but she surpasses any of the commonly accepted breeds that everyone gravitates to and wants to adopt.  Take her Pit mix package look away and please consider only her SOUL?  Trust us, you will not want to look elsewhere for the most perfect and beautiful temperamented dog.  Oakley sits on command and walks nicely on a leash.  When she meets new people, she is so very social and she embraces all other dogs, adults and children alike.  This girl loves to play dress up in cozy sweaters and loves a good chew toy. HOW FUN!???? RIGHT?  If you have children she is right there to engage and play with them and their fantasies.  This Momma dog is just a young 2yr old, 40lb sweetheart who longs to be an inside dog that can cuddle up next to you on the couch and help you melt the life challenges away.   Oakley had outsmarted many rescuers for months running around the county with her litter of puppies being. When she gave in we realized what a remarkable Mom she was and the beauty of her puppies.  All of her puppies have been adopted, but now Oakley is raising her heart and hand to say…. Pick Me Too!  She deserves a remarkable future and life because she will provide the amazing dog companion to someone that can ever be imagined.  Forget the wrapper on the package and consider the heart please…You won’t regret living a life with Oakley. Story
Some dogs wag their tails. Some wiggle their whole bodies. Some bounce like happiness is trying to escape through their paws.Whimsy does all of that - and then tops it off with a gentle kiss. It’s his signature move. He’s a healthy, neutered, 1-year-old, 45-pound Catahoula Cattle Dog who seems convinced that humans were put on earth specifically so he can love them. Bring him his food? Kiss. Toss him a toy? Kiss. Accidentally sneeze in the same room? Kiss. He’s an equal-opportunity affection machine. When I first met him, I had to put a collar on - usually a moment when even confident dogs get unsure. Whimsy was nervous, you could see it in his eyes. And what did he do?He leaned forward, stretched out his neck… and kissed me.That’s Whimsy in a nutshell. When he’s unsure, he reaches for connection. When he’s happy, he reaches for connection. And honestly, most moments in between. He loves humans of all ages, enjoys other dogs, and has the bright, eager energy of a young pup who’s ready for walks, hikes, yard adventures, and whatever happy nonsense you’re up for. And after all that? He’ll curl up next to you and attempt to transform himself into a lap dog while continuing his chosen vocation of Professional Kisser.Bring Whimsy home, and you won’t just feel loved. You’ll feel cherished.Animal Aid Society is located at 80 Butler Farm Road, Hampton, VA. Visiting hours are 9am to noon, daily, including weekends and holidays.Interested? Come for a visit any day of the week - 365 days a year between 9am - 12pm. Hope to see you soon!PLEASE NOTE: Animal Aid Society observes a 40 mile adoption radius to facilitate post adoption support and follow ups.
