Story
Hi, my name is Jack and I am a super, duper sweet boy looking for my forever home. I’m a 2 year old Plott Hound mix, around 72 lbs. I am a big fan of the hoomans and other doggos and I would be happy to have a doggo friend to hang and play with. I love being active and I'm super smart - hey we could be hiking buddies. I am a big boy at 72 lbs so probably best I don't go to a home with the really littles, I would hate to knock one over, or even sit on one! Can you find room in your home for me? *All of The Right to Live dogs are fostered locally in San Antonio Texas and will be transported to other states to their new families upon adoption. We believe fostering dogs and not having them decompress in a kennelled environment is more beneficial for the dogs and builds their trust and companionship in a family situation. Adoption fee includes transportation costs, previous/current medical treatment (spay/neuter, etc.) and a health certificate for cross-state travel*

Story
Introducing Bucky, a dynamic and intelligent pup in need of a dedicated handler to help him reach his full potential. Bucky is working on, with ongoing efforts focused on patience at the food bowl and leash manners. While he thrives with lower-energy dogs, he can be more competitive with high-energy or dominant counterparts, though his nose often leads the way, showing little interest in other pups when on a scent. Bucky's keen sense of smell suggests he'd excel in tracking or agility activities, and he's already showing promise on the treadmill. With a firm yet patient approach, Bucky eagerly responds to positive reinforcement and craves mental stimulation. Affectionate but still learning boundaries, he benefits from consistent reminders about respecting personal space. Bucky's food drive makes him a quick learner, but he'll need continued practice with mealtime patience and impulse control. However, Bucky's true calling lies beyond the confines of a house. He thrives best as an outdoor dog, where he can fully embrace his instincts and utilize his exceptional scenting abilities. Given his natural talents and high energy, Bucky would excel in roles such as scent work, barn hunt, or hunting. These activities provide him with the mental and physical stimulation he craves, allowing him to channel his energy into productive endeavors. While Bucky may not do well as a domesticated animal inside a house, he is ready and willing to thrive in an outdoor environment where he can lead an active and purpose-driven life. If you're seeking a loyal companion for outdoor adventures and scent-oriented pursuits, Bucky is the perfect match for you.
