Story
Zula is a 2.5-year-old, 50lb mix with a curly tail and beautiful, different colored eyes (one blue, one brown!). We got her from Saving Paws about 1.5 years ago and have all her original paperwork ready. She is wonderfully loving, loyal, and fine living with cats! However, she is dog-reactive and must be the only dog in her new home.We love her dearly and my 5-year-old daughter adores her, but with twins on the way, we cannot safely manage her leash reactivity on winter walks without a fence. A fenced yard is a huge plus, but not required if her new owner can walk her safely. She needs an experienced handler who can manage her on a leash around other dogs. Zula is an incredible companion inside the home and will give her whole heart to a family who can give her a secure, peaceful environment. We will include harness, retractable leash, muzzles, doggy dishes, and any food we have left.

Story
🐾 Meet Marzcapone ("Mari")! 🩷 Mari is a happy, smart, and spunky 3-month-old puppy with a personality that's impossible not to love. If you adore adorable head tilts and joyful little hops when she's excited, this sweet girl is sure to steal your heart! Potty training is going wonderfully, and Mari walks beautifully on a leash while responding well to gentle corrections. She's also doing great with kennel training and will often wander into her crate just to relax. Grooming is one of her favorite things—she sits nicely for nail trims and gets the cutest wiggles of excitement when it's time to be brushed! Mari gets along well with the resident cat and all of the dogs in her foster home. Like any puppy, she's still learning her manners and is working on not jumping when greeting people. She gets so excited for pets and attention that small children should be supervised, but she redirects easily with a firm "no" and is eager to learn. DNA testing revealed that Mari is a mix of several breeds, including Akita and Chow Chow, along with several other breeds. While every dog is an individual, these breeds can have unique characteristics that benefit from early structure, training, and responsible ownership. To help Mari become the best companion she can be, we have established the following adoption requirements: 🏡 Adoption Requirements • A securely fenced yard is required. • Completion of our mandatory training program. The initial group training course is provided for $400 and includes additional in-home training sessions. Continued training is strongly encouraged. • Homes with same-sex resident dogs may not be approved due to the potential for same-sex aggression that can occur in Akitas and Chow Chows, particularly between females. • Adopters must notify their homeowner's or renter's insurance company about their new dog. • Homes with young children will not be considered. Mari will do best in an adult-only home or one with older, respectful, dog-savvy children. Mari is an absolute joy to be around and can't wait to find the family who will continue helping her grow into the incredible dog she's meant to be. If you're looking for a smart, affectionate, fun-loving puppy with a huge heart, Mari may be your perfect match!

Story
🐾 Meet Gouda! 🧡 Gouda is a fun-loving sweetheart who is discovering just how wonderful life can be! This smart little girl sleeps soundly in her kennel all night and is doing an amazing job with potty training. She knows to go outside and with regular potty breaks every couple of hours, she's nearly mastered it! She also keeps her kennel clean with no accidents. Gouda has a heart full of love and is always thrilled to see her people. She adores pets, cuddles, and attention, gets along wonderfully with her foster's two adult female dogs, and has done great with every dog she's met. She's incredibly intelligent, already knows several commands, and learns quickly. Her foster mom describes her as an "old soul" and says she's one of the best puppies she's ever cared for. 💛 3 months old 🐾 Kennel trained 🐾 Almost fully potty trained 🐾 Dog friendly 🐾 Smart and eager to learn 🐾 Sweet, loving personality DNA testing revealed a mix of breeds, including Akita and Chow Chow, along with several other breeds. Because of the traits commonly associated with these breeds, we've established a few adoption requirements to help set Gouda up for lifelong success. 🏡 Adoption Requirements: • Securely fenced yard required • Mandatory training program ($400 group course with additional in-home training included) • Homes with same-sex resident dogs may not be approved • Adopters must notify their homeowner's or renter's insurance company about their new dog • Homes with young children will not be considered. These breeds typically do best in adult-only homes or with older, respectful, dog-savvy children. If you're looking for a loyal, affectionate, and happy puppy to grow up with your family, Gouda may be the perfect match. ❤️ Apply to adopt Gouda at thehopehighway.org and give this special girl the forever home she deserves!

Story
Apollo is an amazing dog. Due to a dramatic life event, I cannot properly care for him. He is house trained, outgoing, friendly, walks well on a leash, listens, and an over all great pup. He will turn 3 in May. He has all his shots and is up to date on everything. He has been boarded and been to doggy day care many times and does great with that. He doesn't chew up anything when being home alone or have accidents. He does great with other animals and children.
