Meet Penny – the sweetest velcro Dane!Breed: Great Dane Age: ~5 Size: 120 lbs of loveEnergy: Ultra low — 2 zoomies a day, then nap cityGood with: People (loves both men & women), but prefers to be the only petKids: Best with older childrenSpecial Needs: Blind, but fearless and totally trusting on walksPenny is the ultimate companion — loyal, loving, and happiest right next to you (or on top of your feet). She’s crate trained, fully potty trained, and quiet as a mouse. She’s a pro at listening to voice cues like “step,” “stop,” and “tree” — and she will sniff you out no matter where you are.Meal times are pure joy. Her happy food dance is everything.Penny would thrive in a calm home with a single person, couple, or family with older children. Due to her blindness and her size, small kids may not be the best fit — she can’t see them, and they can be unpredictable. She’d prefer to be the only pet in the home. Though she originally lived with other dogs (including Danes), she quickly decided she’d rather not share her space or her humans. She doesn’t react to dogs on leash, though, so walks are easy-peasy.Penny loves her people so much she gets anxious when left alone — especially in a room away from you. She’s been known to try to chew her way back to your side (door knobs beware). But since moving her crate to the living room?
