Story
Tessa is a large, loyal, and incredibly affectionate companion. She has a gentle heart and is especially great with kids. Whether she curled up beside you or followed the kids around the yard. She also makes an excellent watchdog. Shes alert, protective, and always eager to let you know when someone is nearby. Unfortunately, this is also why we need to rehome her. Living on a corner lot means there's a lot of foot traffic, and she feels the need to bark at everyone who passes by. While she is not aggressive at all, her enthusiasm for keeping watch just doesn't fit our location. She would thrive in a home with more space, fewer passersby, or someone who appreciates her protective instincts. With the right environment, she'll make an incredibly loyal and loving companion for years to come. If youre looking for a devoted family dog who loves kids and knows how to keep your home safe, Tessa is the perfect fit.

Story
Meet Katja! Katja is a sweet Great Pyrenees who may be a little shy around new people, but once she gets to know you, her playful and happy personality shines through. She loves attention and enjoys being pampered in the grooming room. Katja walks well on a leash and truly enjoys her daily walks, making her a wonderful companion for outdoor adventures. She would thrive in a home where she can build confidence at her own pace and be part of a loving, patient family. A meet and greet at the shelter is required with any other dogs in the home to ensure a smooth and happy transition. ------ Before being rescued, many of our dogs had limited socialization, so they may need some time to adjust to life as a family pet. Older kids are often a great fit for our dogs, and homes with younger children will be considered based on each dog’s individual needs. Skills like house training and leash walking may take a little extra patience and practice. However, with understanding and a gentle hand, most of these dogs adapt quite quickly. Being a part of their rehabilitation is a truly rewarding experience. To learn more about mill dogs and start the adoption process, visit our website!

Story
Sarge is a 3-year-old, 63 pound Great Pyrenees mix who is looking for a calm, patient home where he can feel safe and secure. He can be reserved in new situations and needs time to adjust to unfamiliar surroundings, but with consistency and understanding, his true personality begins to shine. Sarge would do best in a quiet environment with people who are willing to move at his pace and give him the space he needs to build confidence. He also needs another confident dog already established in the home to help guide him and provide reassurance as he settles in. Once comfortable, Sarge shows his loyal and gentle nature and forms strong bonds with those he trusts. If there is a dog already in the home, a meet and greet at the shelter will be required to ensure it’s a good fit for everyone. Sarge is searching for a home that will offer patience, stability, and kindness, allowing him the time he needs to feel comfortable and thrive. With the right match, he will be a devoted and loving companion. ------ Before being rescued, many of our dogs had limited socialization, so they may need some time to adjust to life as a family pet.
