🐾🩵Meet Newton! Who has also gotten the nickname Fig! If you've ever dreamed of having a big, fluffy best friend who doubles as a professional snuggle buddy, Newton may be your perfect match! We believe this gentle giant is a Newfoundland and Great Pyrenees mix - meaning he comes fully equipped with a soft coat, soulful eyes and a whole lot of love to give. Newton can be a bit timid when meeting new people or when he's in an unfamiliar environment. It being best for him to have a home without children and a more quiet and consistent home environment. With a bit of time (and maybe a nice bonding walk), and you'll quickly see his loyal and affectionate side shine through. Once he feels comfortable, he's a total cuddle bug who enjoys being close to his people. During Newton's time in a foster home we learned he does not do well with cats, finding it would be best if Newton was in a cat free home. Newton also seemed to appear dog selective when his foster's had him on walks. If you have another dog at home, we require dog meet and greets at the shelter! Newton keeps his kennel impressively clean and hasn't had any accidents since arriving to the shelter - a great sign of good potty habits! The only "messy" habit to note is a little extra drool... but we like to call that just part of his charm! If you are looking for a big-hearted companion who will reward your patience with loyalty, affection and plenty of cozy moments, Newton is ready to steal your heart! She’s not pushy, not food-obsessed, and absolutely not aggressive—in fact, she’s more of a “snooze on your couch” kind of girl. Give her a bed (yours or hers), and she’s in heaven. Daisy has been nothing but delightful in our home. She can use a crate, but she’ll happily choose a cozy dog bed or a comfy sofa every time. She’s proven herself to be fully housebroken—we haven’t had a single accident in the three weeks she’s been with us. Gold star, Daisy! Like many Great Pyrenees, she does have a bit of “professional escape artist” energy, so she’ll need a secure fence and a family who keeps an eye out when the front door opens. We’ve been building her confidence and helping her feel safe, and she’s learning fast. Still, those independent Pyrenees instincts are strong, so she’ll need some supervision during comings and goings. And yes—she has her classic Pyrenees job skills: she’ll proudly announce her “guard dog on duty” status with a big bark. With practice and positive reinforcement, she can learn to tone it down. She also gives the iconic “Pyrenees Paw”—a gentle tap that means “Hello, I would like pets now, please.” It’s ridiculously charming.Likes: Naps, comfy places, love from people!Dislikes: n/a Daisy is overflowing with love, loyalty, and soft, fluffy devotion. She’s ready to be someone’s perfect companion—and she just might be yours. All fees include spay/neuter, microchip, vaccinations, worming, flea and heartworm current. All dogs over 6 months of age have been tested and are heartworm negative.
