Boba is a lovable Newfie who likes to cuddle. His energy level is medium, he can play or be lazy. He could make the best companion for anyone needing some love. We believe he is around 5 years old. He has does have hip dysplasia which is common in the breed, however it does not slow him down.

Duke came into our lives when his previous owner abandoned him. He is a big fluffy giant with lots of love to give. We always said, it feels like he is talking to us through his eyes. We believe Duke is around 7-8 years old but aren't positive since we found him. He will benefit from a place that gives snuggles and love. He is wonderful with children. When he first came to us our girls were young and he was like a little mother to them. His energy level is low so if you are looking for someone to keep you company and love you, he is the one!

Oscar is a 14 month old male Newfoundland. He is a house pup and crate trained. He knows some basic commands. He gets along well with other dogs and kids. He is current on his shots and is on simparica monthly for fleas and heart worm. We are getting rid of him because he killed one of our younger cats. I honestly believe he was just playing with it but non the less, I’m not willing to take the risk with our other cat and smaller dog. Oscar is 100+ pounds but doesn’t realize it. Like any pup he gets excited and wants to jump up. We have a swimming pool and last year he really enjoyed swimming in it, which is not surprising with this breed. He is not neutered because the vet recommended waiting until he is at least 16 months old.

This beautiful girl came to DASH from a rural shelter where she was set to be euthanized due to overcrowding. She is a young girl, who is very smart and is currently in our DASH Prison Program learning her basic commands and honing her puppy manners. She is crate trained, potty trained in the prison setting and walks well on a leash. Her handler states she is very affectionate and playful, but also loves to just chill and relax. She is still in her puppy phase, so can be a bit mouthy when playing, but she is working on this as well. She is said to be very clever and will watch and learn very quickly. Her fur is also very soft and she loves to roll over for pets and belly rubs. She is good with dogs, but has not been kid or cat tested. This girl would be great for an active family who is willing to continue to work with her on her commands and puppy manners so she can be the best family member she can be. We believe this gentle giant is a Newfoundland and Great Pyrenees mix - meaning he comes fully equipped with a soft coat, soulful eyes and a whole lot of love to give. Newton can be a bit timid when meeting new people or when he's in an unfamiliar environment. It being best for him to have a home without children and a more quiet and consistent home environment. With a bit of time (and maybe a nice bonding walk), and you'll quickly see his loyal and affectionate side shine through. Once he feels comfortable, he's a total cuddle bug who enjoys being close to his people. During Newton's time in a foster home we learned he does not do well with cats, finding it would be best if Newton was in a cat free home. Newton also seemed to appear dog selective when his foster's had him on walks. If you have another dog at home, we require dog meet and greets at the shelter! Newton keeps his kennel impressively clean and hasn't had any accidents since arriving to the shelter - a great sign of good potty habits! The only "messy" habit to note is a little extra drool... but we like to call that just part of his charm!
