Rescued from the shelter, Hexagon has settled beautifully into foster life and has shown just how sweet, affectionate, and endearing he can be.   Hexagon thrives on routine and clearly enjoys starting his day with a nice, long morning walk around 7 or 8. Afterward, he’s happy to come home, eat breakfast, have some water, and then seek out the best sunny spot in the house for a well-earned nap. He typically enjoys three or four walks a day because he enjoys them so much and his foster is happy to oblige! Indoors, he has a few favorite lounging spots and can often be found curled up, resting, or quietly observing his surroundings.   Hexagon is quite social and wants to be part of the action. He enjoys hanging out nearby while people are cooking or moving around and truly shines in the evenings. If the TV is on, he’s happiest curled up with his people, either snuggled on the couch or settled on a nearby bed or blanket. At bedtime, he usually needs to be carried back to his pen, but he’s very cooperative and easy to pick up.   When Hexagon first arrived at his foster home, he was understandably reserved and unsure. That caution didn’t last long. After just a few walks, he began to relax, and within a few days he was actively seeking affection, asking for belly rubs, and hopping up to try to climb into laps. Today, he’s very sociable with the people he knows, often rolling onto his back when someone approaches in hopes of pets. He’s a true cuddler and takes every opportunity to soak up attention.   Hexagon can still be wary of certain visitors, particularly adult men entering his space. With management, such as being placed comfortably in his pen when guests arrive, he handles these situations well. He has been fine with women visitors and is gentle with elementary school–aged children, though he may be a bit reserved at first before warming up.   On leash, Hexagon is an avid walker who loves to explore. He enjoys sniffing along the way and may pause to investigate interesting spots, but he’s not a strong puller. He does get alert around other dogs, especially larger ones, and may bark if they get too close. With exposure, he’s shown he can adjust; he has gone on walks with two of the neighbors' Labs and after a short adjustment, now walks well with them. Indoors, however, he’s very much a couch potato and doesn’t show much interest in toys, preferring naps and companionship instead.   Hexagon is well-mannered in the home and has excellent bathroom habits. He’s had no accidents and even tried to alert his foster when he needed to go out unexpectedly. He’s cooperative about going into his pen and settles calmly once inside. While he may resist being placed directly into a crate at first, a little treat encouragement goes a long way, and once inside he relaxes without complaint.   What truly sets Hexagon apart is how deeply affectionate he becomes once he trusts you. He may not be instantly outgoing, but the bond he forms is well worth the wait. As a bonus, he’s also proven himself to be quite clever.   Hexagon is a sweet and loving young dog who is ready to find a home that will give him time to settle in and plenty of opportunities for walks, cuddles, and calm companionship.January 7, 2026, 6:02 pm

Story
Adoption Pending. Furguson is about 4 years old and 16 lbs. He is a nice little dog who loves hanging out with you. He gets along with other dogs but doesn't want to play with them. He would love to be an only dog if you do not work a full workday and would need a canine companion for him if you do. Furgus is a people dog and gets along with men and women but he lights up when he sees a man. No young children should be in the home where he lives because he has no patience with them. He is a sweet and good-natured fellow who can also be very vocal when he wants and has much to say. A perfect day for him is a stroll through the backyard, walking, riding in the car, or just sitting in his bed next to you or on the chair where you sit. He is not interested in toys at all. Furgus sleeps all night in his bed and is house-trained. He is a loving dog who needs to be in a quiet home where he can let his hair down. We do not know how he would be with cats in the home. Furgus is being fostered in San Francisco. His adoption fee is $275.00. Please contact us for more info or an application to adopt at dogzonerescue@yahoo.com Arrangements to meet our dogs occur after an application has been received.
