Story
Meet Xolo! Breed: Norfolk Terrier Mix Birthday: 10/28/2025 age: 3 years old Weight: 17 Pounds Health: Healthy, vaccinated, and neutered — though he’s in great shape, please schedule a visit with your own vet soon after adoption to establish care and keep him feeling his best! Personality Xolo is a joyful little gentleman with a heart that just wants to belong. He has that classic Terrier sparkle — smart, affectionate, and always ready for a bit of fun. Whether he’s exploring the yard, curling up for movie night, or greeting you at the door with his happy tail, Xolo radiates love. He’s loyal to his people and has that perfect balance of spunk and sweetness that makes him the kind of dog who just fits right in. Breed Info Norfolk Terriers are small but mighty! They’re known for their spirited energy, courage, and affectionate nature. A Norfolk mix like Xolo typically weighs around 12–16 pounds and thrives in homes that give both playtime and cuddles. They’re alert, smart, and make wonderful companions for active or relaxed families alike. Owner Responsibilities Provide daily walks, stimulation, and playtime to satisfy his terrier instincts. Offer love, structure, and consistency — he’s happiest with routine and gentle guidance. Keep up with regular vet care, heartworm prevention, grooming, and nutrition. Be patient and understanding as he adjusts to a new rhythm of life. Things to Consider Before adopting, think about: Do you have time for daily attention, affection, and exercise? Is your landlord pet-friendly and does your home allow dogs? Are you prepared for the lifelong costs of vet care, grooming, and food? Do you plan to stay in a stable home and routine for years to come? Every dog needs patience — especially rescues who may need time to trust again. The 3-3-3 Rule First 3 days: Everything feels new. Xolo will need space, comfort, and calm reassurance. First 3 weeks: He’ll start learning your home, your schedule, and your heart. First 3 months: Trust blossoms, and he’ll know he’s truly home — safe, loved, and understood. &#226&#157&#164&#239&#184&#143 Commitment for Life Adopting Xolo means promising to be his forever family — through every season, every adventure, and every wag of his tail. Why Xolo Would Be a Great Addition Xolo is the kind of dog who fills every quiet corner of your home with love and laughter. He’s small enough to snuggle in your arms but big enough in heart to make every day brighter. Loyal, affectionate, and endlessly loving, Xolo is ready to bring joy and warmth into the life of whoever is lucky enough to call him theirs. Story
Animal Rescue of the Rockies believes every pet should find a wonderful and caring home. To ensure Ringo #3 finds the best possible home, we ask you fill out our adoption application so we can learn more about you and your household. We review each application in the order submitted and will contact you within 48 hours  (please check your spam folder for our emails) .   Ringo #3 | 16-Year-Old Shih Tzu Mix | Gentle Golden Couch Companion Ringo is a 16-year-old, 15-pound Shih Tzu mix with a soft brown coat and an even softer heart. He’s a calm, sweet senior who is perfectly content enjoying the slower pace of life—lounging on the couch, soaking up affection, and tagging along for car rides. Ringo is low energy and would make an excellent movie buddy, though he still enjoys short neighborhood strolls and does fairly well on leash, even if he likes to pull a bit at first. Due to his age, Ringo can’t hold his bladder for long stretches. He will go outside to do his business and sometimes signals by standing at the door, though there are times when he may have an accident, especially if not let out promptly. That said, he does quite well overall, and his foster reports that he mostly sleeps while they’re gone and accidents are rare. He does great when left home alone for 4–6 hours with other dogs in the house and is described as a “perfect angel.” He can be kenneled if needed (especially with other dogs nearby), though he may whine briefly before settling. Ringo gets along wonderfully with other dogs of all sizes and has had positive interactions with cats as well. While he hasn’t been around children, his foster feels he’d do best in a home with older kids due to being mostly blind and deaf. He has no preference when it comes to people and happily loves everyone. He knows the “come” command, primarily using hand signals due to his vision limitations, and he responds well to structure and boundaries. Ringo isn’t interested in toys, but treats, food, and affection are the way to his heart. His ideal home would be a calm household—either as an only dog or with another laid-back canine companion—where he can enjoy good food, cozy cuddles, and car rides. Ringo has some age-related conditions, including missing teeth, arthritis, and a heart murmur (with an echocardiogram planned to assess it). He is completely blind in his right eye, but it doesn’t slow him down or affect his quality of life. Ringo is simply looking for a loving place to spend his golden years, surrounded by comfort and kindness.     If you and the dog are a good match then we'll connect you with our dog's foster parents to chat more in-depth. If both you and the foster agree that the dog is a good fit then a meet and greet is scheduled. We require applicants' dogs to meet ours to ensure they get along. We'll ask you to read and sign our adoption agreement and pay the adoption fee to complete the adoption when it comes time. Our adoption fees help cover the costs of saving more lives!  A home visit will be scheduled within one week of your new pet going home with you.  The adoption fee for this pet is $100. Our adoption fee covers the following: Spay/neuter Microchip DAPP vaccinations as age-appropriate for the dog.  Rabies vaccinations as age-appropriate for the dog. Adopters shall be responsible for all vaccinations after adoption. Please fill out an adoption application by clicking  here . Please give us 48 hours to review your application and respond to you. (Remember to check your spam folder for our emails!) We want our pets to go to a lifelong new home, so thank you for your patience during the adoption process! Please email dogs@arrcolorado.org for more information, as we can't accept calls. PLEASE NOTE:  The breed listed is the information we've received from the shelter.  Shelters usually guess at the breed, so there is no guarantee, as we don't DNA test our foster pets.  Here is some interesting info on breed identification:  https://arrcolorado.org/category/puppy-dog-tips/ Our adoption process is: 1. Fill out our Adoption Application online.  We'll contact you within 48 hours to answer any questions you may have about the pet. 2. If the pet looks like a great match, we'll schedule a meet and greet and ask you to fill out our online Adoption Agreement if you'd like to proceed with adopting.  Once you've completed the Adoption Agreement and pay the pet's Adoption Fee, you can arrange to pick up your new furry family member!
