This young male Terrier mix may have come from a tough hoarding situation in Tennessee (along with his equally adorable buddy, Baylor), but he’s determined to turn his life around one quiet tail wag at a time. Spud’s vibe is shy at first, but sweet once he decides you’re trustworthy. Spud gets along with other dogs — they’re his confidence buddies — and he’d be thrilled to have a furry friend in his forever home. He’s ready to trade his past life for a cozy bed, gentle humans, and a future full of love (and maybe French fries, strictly for scientific potato-to-potato comparison). If you’re patient, kind, and ready to watch a shy little guy blossom into the best boy ever, come meet Spud. Apply today -- your potato soulmate is waiting.
Spud's foster mom shares that he is very shy and will need an experienced owner to care for him. It takes this furry potato some time to open up, but when he does, it is well worth your wait! Despite being through something horrendous, Spud is still so trusting and loving. His tail wags are inspiring and his tiny licks are comforting. Spud enjoys a nice cozy crate, a good toy, playing with his foster mom's dogs (also of the potato variety), and a good bowl of food. Spud thoroughly enjoys being spoken to in a baby voice and will be the more submissive dog in your pack. He is fully potty pad trained and would love nothing more than to live out his days on your lap! Your new pet will require a refresher in house-training. K-9 Lifesavers strongly recommends all new adopters enroll their new pet into obedience training. This provides for an easier transition into a new home, ensures the dog remains well socialized, and helps form a bond between the dog and the new family. Adoption fees cover basic vetting, rabies (if puppy is old enough), distemper/parvo vaccinations, deworming, monthly heartworm prevention while in our care (if old enough), monthly flea/tick prevention while in our care, and transport costs. K-9 Lifesavers will also cover the cost of spay/neuter at our partner vet at 6 months of age or reimburse adopter for up to the amount of our partner vet cost should you choose to spay/neuter at your own vet.Foster Program: Foster homes provide for the temporary care of a rescue until the dog is placed into a loving, forever home.
