Story
Meet Freya... Freya is about as special as a rescue pup comes. Ace of Hearts rescued her from death row after she waited for a week in the shelter with dislocated hip and 2 breaks in her left hind leg. She was in immense pain and dealing with her family dumping her but not once did that make her anything but the sweet, sweet dog we know today. Her gentle nature will have you falling head over heels in love. When she is all better, we know she will make an incredible bubbly companion for any human that has the heart to scoop her up and give her what she has never known. Are you Freya's next best friend? She would love to meet you!

Story
Baxter is a confident little gentlemen who is a joy to have around. He is happiest when cuddling with his human. Couch snuggles are the best. He is fully housebroken, walks great on a leash and sleeps soundly in his crate. Baxter has little tolerance for bigger dogs, so it's best he is an only dog or a dog with smaller dogs in the household. He would benefit with training. He is sweet natured and very lovable. He is between 2-3 years old and weighs 18 pounds. He loves, loves, loves having his own backyard. All dogs in our program are up to date on all their shots, spayed or neutered, and micro chipped. Our dogs are in foster homes which enables us to learn more about them in a home environment. We do not place dogs on a first come first serve basis, but rather to the home best suited for them. An application, adoption fee and contract are required. Please direct all questions to adopt@crdogrescue.com. All our dogs can be met with an approved application. Thank you for looking at a rescue dog for your next family member.

Story
This precious puppy is our little Beau! He is an approximately 10 week old, 9lb, Terrier mix (Border and Parson Russell possibly) that is the cutest puppy ever! Beau came to us when one of our team members was on the NextDoor app and saw that a man had just posted "free puppy being given away." We know the danger of giving a dog away, especially for free so we contacted the owner and met up with him to take the puppy! Little Beau was so scared and didn't know what was going on. The owner told us he bought him from a friend who's dog had a little of puppies, but after a week of owning Beau, the owner felt that a puppy was just a bit too much for him. It's ok because he is in one of our amazing foster homes and is getting so much love, care, and socialization with other dogs. Beau is such a happy, playful, and loving little guy! We definitely want him in a home with another playful pup and a home with safe and secure yard for him to run around in. Owners that are not gone long hours during the day would be ideal! Beau is one special little boy who deserves the best forever home out there! Beau is vaccinated, microchipped, and will be neutered at the appropriate age. We only adopt in the Greater LA areas as an in person meet/greet, home check, and trial period are required. Please contact us at gina@theforgottendog.org or 310-990-2020 Beau's adoption fee is $600.

Story
This lovely little girl is Tasha! Isn't she the cutest? Tasha came to us as part of an accidental litter where the owners accepted help to get the mom spayed, but needed to find homes for the puppies. We took the puppies into our foundation and Tasha and Evie (her sister) are still looking for their forever homes. Tasha is an 8 month old, female, Border Terrier mix. She is a happy and outgoing dog that loves everyone she meets! We are looking for a home for her that has another sweet and playful dog for her to grow up with and a home that has a safe and secure yard to run around in. Owners that are not gone long hours during the day would be ideal. Tasha's foster mom has nothing but wonderful things to say about our sweet girl and we know that her forever home is out there waiting for her! Tasha is spayed, vaccinated, and microchipped. We only adopt in the Greater LA areas as an in person meet/greet, home check, and trial period are required. Please contact us at: gina@theforgottendog.org or 310-990-2020

***Courtesy post - contact Rachel 818-378-8995*** Romy is a 3 yo Carin terrier mix who weighs 20 pounds. Sadly he was abandoned when a rescue closed its doors and left their dogs behind. He's currently in a foster home but is eager to find his forever friend. While he's shy at first meeting, he will melt your heart and be your best snuggle buddy. He's your most loyal companion! Romy is house-trained, super smart, playful and LOVES his adventures outside - especially going on long walks with his person. He is GREAT with dogs (and cats) and would love a doggy friend to play with. Romy is fixed, UTD on shots and ready for love. Please no small children, they can be scary to Romy. This is a courtesy post for a fellow rescuer. Please text 818-378-8995 for more info. Story
Meet Grandma Dollie Mae Meet Grandma Dollie Mae: Your New Best Friend! Introducing Grandma Dollie Mae, our sweet 10-year-old senior pup who is nothing short of a miracle. Just a short while ago, Dollie found herself in a dire situation at a high-kill animal shelter in Los Angeles, facing the unthinkable. Thankfully, our wonderful rescue team at Concerned Citizens stepped in just in time to change her fate. With the help of a caring foster family, Dollie was whisked off to the vet to receive the care she deserves. Dollie loves her afternoon nap with her favorite pillow and blanket. She eats and sleeps and then eats again. We recommend a house hold with children over 12 years old who possess very good animal etiquette. As Dolly needs not to be startled. This spunky little lady embodies the spirit of happiness and resilience! Despite facing a few medical issues, such as arthritis, Dollie remains a joyful companion. Her vet has advised against spaying due to her age, as undergoing anesthesia could pose risks. But don't let that worry you—this feisty grandma dog has plenty of love and life to share! Dollie Mae is the perfect addition to any low-key home, bringing warmth, joy, and a sprinkle of fun wherever she goes. She is microchipped and up to date on vaccinations, ensuring she’s ready for her forever family. If you're interested in lighting up your life with this delightful senior angel, Dollie Mae is currently located in Lakewood, CA, and would love to meet you! For inquiries or to set up a meet-and-greet, please reach out to us at info@concernedcitizensanimalrescue.org. Let’s give Grandma Dollie Mae the loving home she truly deserves!

Story
I got Dosi about three years ago when she was a puppy. She is a pocket bully. She is loving, affectionate and loyal. She is sometimes anxious and can be very needy however this may be a function of the change in her routine. My job has changed dramatically, and I am away a lot. It’s not fair for her to crated for so long during the day. pocket bullies tend to have separation anxiety from their owners. I really need to find her a home where she can be happy and be interactive and have a family. The pocket bully breed is incredibly loyal and very eager to protect their owners. The bark can be intimidating, but she is gentle. She has had some alllergies and is on a high protein dry dog food diet plan

Story
Text or email for direct contact with rescuer located in Palmdale approved for same-day adoption (661)609-2186 memeco635@gmail.com Hello everyone, my name is Bella. Get the tissues ready because my story is a little tragic. I was homeless wandering the streets of Skid Row hoping to find a food drive where I could snag a couple treats from the vendors feeding the homeless when a homeless man’s German Shepherd attacked me out of nowhere! People were standing around yelling when a pitbull came and joined in on attacking me! After what felt like forever they were able to separate both dogs and pick me up but I was limp in shock, fearing I was already dead due to the amount of blood everywhere and my jaw barely hanging off my face I was rushed to an emergency vet who then transported me to Palmdale where I met my rescuer. My jaw was completely broken, and it had to be surgically reattached and wired shut, the person who transported me all the way to Palmdale wasn’t able to get the funds together to handle my surgery so my rescuer stepped in to help. They told her there was a very high chance that I wouldn’t survive the surgery and I would die on the table because I lost so much blood and I wasn’t responsive due to the shock and pain I was clearly in, but if they were determined to fight for me, I was determined to fight as well and I pulled through! I spent the next few weeks having a very difficult time, eating and drinking, and had to be fed with the syringe because I had tubes coming out of my neck and my jaw. My rescuer was determined to help me pull through, and after all the pain medication antibiotic‘s and vet visits I was cleared and I couldn’t stop smiling! I made a full recovery and my favorite thing to do now is follow my rescuer around her house and join in when she has a little dance breaks. I still get skittish around large dogs, but I’m very friendly and I haven’t shown Any signs of aggression because I do want to build bonds with other dogs, cats and children. I am very sweet however I am currently being called a Velcro dog because I want to be around people all the time. I am still on a soft food diet, even though my most severe injuries are healed, but I will have to be weaned into hard kibble overtime so for now I am enjoying wet food and shredded chicken with white rice with soft boiled veggies, and the occasional scrambled egg. My rescuer thinks it’s time for me to find a family of my own. I am very quiet and always wanting to cuddle. I would be a great addition to any family dynamic as I acclimate without issue. I have a very easy-going personality. I have no bad habits I just want love. I may have had a rough start, but I know my future involves a very loving family, a nice warm couch and a yard where I can play and soak in the sun. if you think I sound like the perfect match for your family please contact my rescuer with the information listed above my story to schedule a time to meet with me. I am approved for same-day adoption, and I guarantee you will fall in love with my smile. I really hope to find my forever family soon but until then I look forward to meeting you!

Adopting a Norwich Terrier

Frequently asked questions about acquiring an Norwich Terrier - the pros and cons of adopting versus going through a breeder, and associated costs.

You can adopt a Norwich Terrier at a much lower cost than buying one from a breeder. The cost to adopt a Norwich Terrier is $50 to $300. Typically, this adoption fee includes an initial exam, heartworm testing and treatment, parasite preventatives, vaccines, microchipping, and spay/neuter. In contrast, buying Norwich Terriers from breeders can be prohibitively expensive. Depending on their breeding, they can cost $1,500 to $4,000.

The easiest way to adopt a Norwich Terrier would be through a rescue that specializes in Norwich Terriers and through small-breed rescues. They are a rare breed, especially compared to the more common Yorkshire Terrier. Finding a Norwich Terrier mixed-breed pup may be easier. A great place to start is with a breed search on Adopt a Pet. The search will show you all the available Norwich Terriers in your area.

Norwich Terrier fun facts

Fun Facts:

"Winky" in the Christopher Guest film Best In Show was played by a Norwich Terrier.

The Norwich and the Norfolk Terrier have essentially the same physical characteristics except for one main difference: the Norwich Terrier boasts erect ears, and the Norfolk Terrier boasts dropped ears.

Norwich Terriers are rare because they usually require Caesarean sections and their litters are very small - averaging just 2 puppies per litter.
