Story
We adopted Remy from a family having a new born and now we are having a new born and need to re-home our lil guy. Remy is 16 years old with a young soul. He has plenty of energy and loves to be outside. Dog parks are one of his favorite places. He gets along with other dogs, cats, and especially loves kids. He is house trained and has never made a mess in our house. We need to find a loving “retirement home” for our lil senior

These pups are in Glendale, Arizona too!

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. LEONARDO is available! Leonardo is a 2-and-1/2-year-old neutered male Golden Doodle.  He is a big boy at 86 lbs and needs to shed some more weight with the green bean diet. Leonardo is friendly, loves to play and needs lots of exercise.  He gets hyper excited and needs training to curb his enthusiasm and jumping. He has been fostered with other dogs, but he may do best in a home with no other dogs, as he can be very "mouthy" and intimidating. While he has never lived with children he has been around kids ages 9 to 15.  He knows sit, stay, down, come but sometimes chooses not to listen to come.  He will jump on people so before opening the door if you tell him "go get a toy" he will run to find a toy rather than jump. He needs more training on the leash as he pulls.  Leonardo is afraid of fireworks and loud noises and likes to be next to someone if that happens. He would benefit from additional basic training with proper benevolent leadership, structure, and socialization. All potential fosters and adopters must complete an application, pay the $25.00 application fee and have a home visit before being considered for any dog.  If you reside in Arizona and are interested in adopting a dog like this from Arizona Golden Rescue, we recommend that you visit our website and complete the Online Adoption Application to begin the process.    http://arizonagoldenrescue.rescuegroups.org/info/adoption  WE DO NOT ADOPT OUTSIDE OF THE STATE OF ARIZONA. Once we receive your application and application fee, a home visit will be scheduled. Once your home visit is approved, you will be placed on our waiting list. (Please be aware that your application cannot be processed until the application fee is paid.) Our sole purpose is to find the perfect home for the dog as our dogs always come first.        Because we have new rescues coming in all the time, if the Golden that is the right dog for you is not available at this time it will probably come into Rescue and you would be notified of the availability.     Waiting times vary depending upon how specific your preferences are. The more you restrict the factors involved in choosing a dog – age, sex, coat color, etc. – the longer the wait may be before we find the perfect dog for you.  Please note: it is the policy of AGR not to place a dog less than 3 years of age with a family that has children less than 3 years of age.  If you have specific questions about our adoption process, please go to this link at our website.   https://arizonagoldenrescue.rescuegroups.org/info/display?PageID=20779  Arizona Golden Rescue is organized as an all-volunteer, non-profit, 501 (c) (3) corporation. We are a charitable organization whose mission is to rescue displaced Golden Retrievers and mostly Golden mixes that have been abused, abandoned, neglected or unwanted and find new, loving, permanent homes for them. Rescued dogs are given a complete veterinary exam and their vaccines are updated; they are also micro-chipped, spayed or neutered, and tested for valley fever and heartworm. AGR provides emotional and medical rehabilitation and will pay for medications and for necessary surgeries. Through education at public appearances, AGR seeks to educate the public about the Golden Retriever breed and about responsible dog ownership, in order to help reduce the unwanted dog population.  Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.April 28, 2024, 10:30 pm

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. BODHI is available! Bodhi is a neutered Golden Doodle approximately 3-and-1/2-years old.  He is tall, weighs 67#, energetic strong, friendly and likes to go on daily walks or go hiking. He needs training with a leash though. Bodhi had surgery in late 2023 for a mast cell tumor, is doing well, has had one ultrasound wellness follow-up and was pronounced clear, with a final follow-up scheduled for 5/17/24. He has been around small children, but because of his size and strength older children would be recommended.  He has been around other dogs, but not cats; he is very relaxed and "chill" with other dogs.  His foster mom thinks he would be a good candidate for a therapy dog. All potential fosters and adopters must complete an application, pay the $25.00 application fee and have a home visit before being considered for any dog.  If you reside in Arizona and are interested in adopting a dog like Bodhi from Arizona Golden Rescue, we recommend that you visit our website and complete the Online Adoption Application to begin the process.    http://arizonagoldenrescue.rescuegroups.org/info/adoption  WE DO NOT ADOPT OUTSIDE OF THE STATE OF ARIZONA. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. MILU is available! Milu is an 8-year-old neutered Golden Mix. We are not sure what he is mixed with, but he is really cute and small.  Loves to explore and run around, likes to play fetch and he is lovable.  He is a bit shy with new people at first then warms up.  He does not live with children but has been around children ages 7 and up.  He lives with another dog but has never been around cats.  He is a bit scared of loud noises and will hide.
