Story
Hello! My name is Archie and here is a little info about me: Breed: Golden Retriever Shepherd MixAge: 2 yearsGender: MaleWeight: 60 lbsHeight: 65 cm (ground to shoulder)Country of origin: Middle EastHighlight(s): Super friendly, cuddly, and playful; very smart and quick learner A little about me:Hi there! I’m Archie — a fluffy, friendly guy who loves to cuddle and play. I have my brother Buster by my side, he's my best friend in the world! My brother Buster and I were just tiny puppies when we were rescued from a breeder in the Middle East. Back then, life was tough — cramped spaces, little love, and lots of uncertainty. But everything changed when someone kind came to save us. It felt like waking up from a scary dream into a world filled with warmth, soft beds, and endless belly rubs! Since then, Buster and I have been inseparable — growing up together, cuddling, exploring, and learning about all the wonderful things life has to offer. We’re looking for a forever family who understands that adopting us means double the love, double the fun, and two best friends who will always stick together. We’re bundles of joy wrapped in fluffy coats! Super friendly doesn’t even begin to describe us — we’re like two big teddy bears who love to cuddle up close and soak up all the belly rubs. Playtime is our favorite, whether it’s chasing a ball, learning new tricks, or just goofing around with each other. We’re pretty smart too — Buster and I pick up commands quickly and can’t wait to learn more from our new family. We love meeting other dogs and making new pals, though we haven’t met kids or cats just yet — but we’re curious and excited to see who else we can befriend! We’re the perfect mix of playful energy and calm snuggles, always ready to brighten your day with wagging tails and happy hearts. The perfect home for us would have a big yard to run around in, lots of daily walks, and a patient owner who can help us keep learning and growing. We love being active, but we also enjoy quiet, cuddle time.  More About Me:Moderate to high—ready for fun and adventure, but also happy to relax by your side. I Get Along With: Dogs: Yes! I love doggy friends. Cats: Unknown (haven’t met any yet) Kids: Unknown (haven’t met any yet) Fears: I’m a brave little survivor, but please be patient as I settle into new environments. Training: We know some leash and house manners, but we’ll need help continuing our training and learning new things. Leash skills: Some, but we’d love more practice!House trained: A little bit, please help us improve! Health Notes:I am healthy and ready to go!I have been spayed, vaccinated, and microchipped. My adoption fee is $800.00 CAD plus applicable taxes. While our rescuers always seek a flight without a charge, there is the possibility of a passenger fee, not to exceed $300. Disclaimer: It is important for all applicants to visit our website, http://www.lovedatlastdogrescue.ca/adopting/ and read about Loved at Last Dog Rescue. Information included in the profile is provided to us from the international rescuer or local fosters. LALDR does not have access to overseas dogs and cannot always verify the accuracy of their descriptions. Every dog is an individual and can act differently in different situations based on the person adopting them and the environment in which they live. Please Note: LALDR highly encourages adopters to research some local dog trainers before their dog arrives. Although a 1-on-1 trainer is often not needed, it is good to have someone in mind in case any problematic behaviours arise. Most bad behaviours can be modified if caught early enough, so make sure to nip undesirable behaviours in the bud before they become serious problems.Basic training should be taken seriously but should not begin until your dog is well settled in - at least a couple of weeks. After you feel your new dog is relaxed and comfortable in their new home check out training courses in your local area. Even basic beginner courses like those taught at a local pet store can have a huge benefit in helping your dog learn to socialize and get used to being in public situations, all with the added benefit of strengthening their bond with you. The age and breed of a dog is usually an educated guess, so we are not able to guarantee the accuracy of age or breed of our dogs. Normally, we will not approve adoptions to homes with children under 12 years of age. However if the dog is shown to be good with children we will approve homes with children 8 years or older. More information can be found on our website.  While most dogs find escorting passengers flying directly to Vancouver, some will find flights through Toronto or  Montreal. In that case, additional fees will apply to fly your dog to Vancouver by cargo. Unaccompanied cargo costs within Canada range from $350 - $550 depending on the size of the dog. LALDR will be as transparent as possible with you regarding these costs. You will NOT be asked to pay a passenger fee on top of the cargo fee. [MID EAST DOGS] *Vaccinations: Dogs from the Middle East are vaccinated for rabies, parvo, distemper, leptospirosis, adenovirus type 1 and para-influenza. Bordetella is not given, as that has not been a problem in the Middle East. ##2417840##

Story
Hi, my name is PRINCESS, and here is a little info about me: Breed: English Setter/Spaniel mixAge: 2 yearsGender: FemaleWeight: 75 lbs / 34 kgHeight: 27 inches / 68 cmCountry of origin: Middle EastHighlight(s): Friendly, intelligent, eager to learn, good with dogs ,cats& kids Thank you for taking a moment to get to know me, as I certainly want to get to know you!  Don't let my regal name deter you. As a spaniel, I wouldn't shy away from some muddy times while accompanying you on hikes, swims, and romps at the dog park!  My bags are officially unpacked in Vancouver, and I'm settling in like a true Canadian, earning high marks!  I’ve officially mastered 'Sit' and am crushing the cruel 'Leave It' command. My foster mom says I'm a champion at respecting boundaries (and yes, I know exactly which part of the couch I’m allowed to steal).  Paws up! My luxurious coat is looking amazing and barely sheds anymore! However, just so you know, I'm not hypoallergenic (my fluff will be worth the brush!). I spent my first few months neglected, malnourished, and tied up on a short leash in a sad, old building. Then, a kind neighbor heard me and started bringing me food, earning my trust. She stood up for me, advocated for my release from what felt like "doggy jail," and brought me to the shelter. I've been safe here and thriving for about nine months (since October 2023)!My rescuer named me Princess because while I make friends easily (canine and human alike), I prefer to eat my meals alone, please and thank you. **A Queen In Training** Past trauma caused resource guarding (food/toys), but my training is a huge success: I’ve mastered 'Wait,' sit automatically for meals, and I’m quickly building trust that my resources are secure. I socialize well with dogs (we enjoy zoomies!) and people. Im fully housetrained and respects boundaries beautifully. The best kind of home for me would be one that offers some adventure time. Cuddles and relaxed time at home would also be fabulous! I'm pretty adaptable, so should fit into most home environments. I am officially 'Cat Approved' and do fine with cats. I am 100% good with other dogs, as long as there are no toys or food involved. I just need a loving human to help me continue my training so I can trust that all my treasures will be there forever! Story
Hello. My name is CHESTER and here is a little info about me:Breed: Golden Retriever/Australian Shepard mixAge: 2 yearsGender: maleWeight: 25 kgHeight: 24 inchesHighlight(s): polite, social, intelligent, quick learning, loving, gentlemanly Looking for a wonderful, polite boy who loves everyone, I'm that pup. I am quite the gentleman, if I do say so myself.Found by my rescuer in Autumn on the side of the street in the Middle East, I was a very small puppy. There were some nice children around, they tried bringing me some pieces of bone, and while I was hungry, I was unable to eat this yet. So, my rescuer brought me home with her. While very good with children and other dogs, I do however bark at cats. Go figure. Maybe with proper intro, I'd be ok? Might be best to bypass the feline type in my new home for now.One thing you should know about me is my special diet. They don't feed me dry food because it is not good quality here; instead, I enjoy delicious meals of chicken with vegetables. I also love to play --weather is chasing a ball, cuddling, a doll or even with stuffed animal toys. and whenever my rescuer sees me, I can but jump into her and pure joy!   You'll find I am quite smart and learn very quickly. I love toys like stuffed animals. I do have a tendency toward digging in the yard where there are other dogs. Not sure if I would do this if I was an only. I have that exuberant puppyness yet, so I imagine as I mature and yountrain me, I will chill more.I am able to jump, so should have a home with a fence. If I get plenty of exercise otherwise, in a safe enclosed area or maybe as a running/hiking partner, I could manage without a yard. No off leash work until I am bonded with good recall, as I'm still a puppy and can get excited and run. I'm a bit hesitant at first going in the car, but tend to be calm. I'm sure I will enjoy rides, once I understand more about them. I don't get much chance to go anywhere where I live. Here I am enjoying some playtime with my doggy friends.  http://https://youtube.com/shorts/lOWuECvIPXM?si=5Mi3q7uTtwYsTYwAHoping you are after a kind, intelligent and beautiful dog. I'd love to be your pupper for life. Here is an additional video of me being a love bug:  https://youtube.com/shorts/nKbBY8FlD1w?si=OTtx_IJwxj9gPWeP Energy Level: moderate to moderate highI get along with:Dogs: yesCats: unknownKids: yesFears: none observed. Please be patient assisting me in my transition.Training: house manners and a bit if leash workLeash skills: some. Please be prepared to continue training.House trained: Yes. Please help me learn where to go in my new home.Health notes:I have been spayed/neutered & vaccinated. I will be microchipped prior to arrival. My adoption fee is $800.00 CAD plus applicable taxes. While our rescuers always seek a flight without a charge, there is the possibility of a passenger fee, to a max of $300. Most passengers from the Middle East now require a fee to accompany a dog on a flight. Due to this, if a rescuer finds a flight with this requirement, we will contact you to see if you are willing to pay the passenger. You are under no obligation to do this. If not, another flight will need to be searched for, though there is no guarantee a free or lower cost one will be found. Though oft times a passenger is requesting higher amounts, the fee will not exceed $250. Our rescuers work extremely hard finding flights and spend tremendous amounts of money caring for and sending these dogs to safety. They simply haven't the extra money to cover this. Thank you for your understanding.
