Meet Tater Tot, a sweet, playful boy who loves people and has a big affectionate personality! While he can be a little shy and nervous when meeting other dogs, he’s quite friendly with people and warms up nicely to his humans. Once he’s comfortable, Tater Tot loves attention, leans in for affection, and is always happy to curl up in your lap. Tater Tot is a playful guy with medium energy and a serious love for games! He enjoys playing fetch and loves to wrestle and chase, so having a yard where he can run, play, and burn off some energy would be ideal. He can get a little jumpy and mouthy when excited, but his goofy, fun-loving nature makes him a wonderful family companion for dog savvy kids. He’s good with kids and would love a family who will include him in their adventures. Tater Tot is housetrained and crate trained, and because he can be nervous around other dogs, he would prefer to be the only animal in the home. He’s looking for a family who will give him the confidence and security he needs while enjoying all the playful, affectionate moments he has to offer. Give this sweet boy a chance, and Tater Tot may just become your new best friend!

I am at Oakland Animal Services in kennel Dog E:3This dog is available to meet by appointment only. Rebel is a 5-year-old, 9-pound Papillon mix who can be a very affectionate, cuddly little dog with people he trusts. He enjoys petting and belly rubs on his terms and likes staying close to his person. He can be selective about other dogs, but has done well in playgroups with several dogs at the shelter. Rebel can be frightened by some types of handling and has a history of biting when he feels uncomfortable, particularly during leashing and grooming. He will need an adult-only home with an experienced adopter who understands his signals, respects his boundaries, and is prepared to move at his pace. Rebel's long coat requires regular grooming, which can be challenging for him. His adopter will need patience and perseverance to help him develop a safe, manageable grooming routine. Rebel isn't a dog for everyone, but for the right person, he has a sweet and affectionate side to offer. He is looking for someone who will take the time to understand him and build his trust. Story
Sugar is simply adorable. She has lots of Chihuahua  attitude and likes to bark at dogs on walks, but just to make sure they know she is coming and they should wait to meet her. She loves car rides, snuggles, playing with her canine foster sister, meal times, exploring the back yard, and giving kisses. She is slow to meet new people, but will give them a sniff. She likes meeting new dogs of all sizes. Sugar is about 3 years old and 6 pounds. She is a fun, loving girl that wants a home where she can spend most of the time with her person(s). Another dog would be nice, but not a requirement.  She is active, and playful, and goes on 2 mile walks every day with her larger canine foster siblings. Sugar has GERD, Gastro Esophageal Reflux Disease, and takes a daily antacid to keep it under control. Luckily she really enjoys pill pockets. She also take cough meds as needed. She needs 3-4 small low fat meals per day to keep food in her tummy but not to let it be full. Grateful Dogs Rescue incurs substantial veterinary and other expenses in rescuing our dogs. In order to recoup some of these costs, we request a tax-deductible donation for each adoption. The suggested donation for Sugar is $300. Little Banana is ready to find his forever home! He's appx 3 to 4 yrs old. Weights only about 8 to 10lbs as he's a lil guy with a bossy attitude with other dogs! He loves to stay close to people and cuddle. He's very food motivated, walks well on leash! He would bark at strangers and kids when he first see them but he will be fine afterwards. He loves to sun bathe and gets his belly rubs! He is vaccinated, neutered, and microchipped.
