Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Meet Mac! Mac is a 5-year-old Papillon/Chihuahua mix with a big personality packed into a small package. While he may be little, Mac is convinced he’s much bigger than he really is and isn’t afraid to show it! Mac can be timid when meeting new people and will need slow, patient introductions. If someone approaches too quickly before he feels comfortable, he can become frightened and may react defensively. Because of this, Mac is looking for a home without small children and with adopters who understand the importance of letting him build trust at his own pace. Once you’re in his circle, Mac is a loyal companion who loves being close to his person. Whether you’re relaxing at home, heading out for a walk, or enjoying time outdoors, Mac wants to be right there with you. He especially loves walks and exploring outside, and he walks nicely on a leash. When he’s excited—whether he thinks you’re going somewhere fun or hopes you’re about to share a snack—he’ll happily stand up and bounce around on his back feet to let you know! Mac would prefer to be the only pet in the home. He has a bit of “big dog syndrome” and likes to think he’s the toughest dog around. He does not enjoy being crated and may bark if he knows you’re nearby, but he usually settles down with time. Mac is searching for a patient, understanding home that will give him the time he needs to feel safe and secure. In return, you’ll gain a devoted little sidekick who will happily join you on all of life’s adventures. Mac would do best with an experienced dog owner who appreciates a quirky, loyal companion and is willing to let him set the pace when making new friends. â¤ï¸ Estimated DOB: 05/14/2021 Adoption fee: $250 (6% KY sales tax included) We would love to hear from you!
