Story
Lucky is a 12 year old, 6 lb papillon/terrier mix who I adopted as a rescue when she was 6. Not much is known about her history but her behavior suggests she was abused and/or neglected. Lucky is house trained. She may have an occasional peeing accident if she is not walked frequently. She is healthy and well cared for. She spends most of her day sleeping in the sun and loves being with someone on the couch, but she’s not a cuddler. She is sweet with people on walks, even children, but barks and growls at other dogs. She has some serious behavior problems that I can’t deal with anymore. I tried training but she did not respond well. She’s nervous and defensive and protective. You can’t go near her food while eating or startle her when sleeping or she’ll growl and sometimes nip. She barks and growls and nips my grandson who lives with me, especially if “protecting” me. I think she need one or two adults who live a quiet life and who are familiar with her behavior issues.
