Story
Meet Gizmo, a 4.5-year-old Papillon mix who would like to formally inform you that he is not, in fact, a dog. He is a cat. We have tried explaining this to him, but he remains committed to the bit. Named after the adorable little Gremlin, Gizmo has the personality to match—cute, quirky, and just a tiny bit opinionated. And when we say opinionated, we mean this boy has a voice and is not afraid to use it. He will happily let you know what he thinks about pretty much everything.Gizmo enjoys being around his people and will happily hang out nearby, observe your activities, and generally keep you company. But should you attempt to turn that companionship into cuddling? Absolutely not. Have you lost your mind? Gizmo is more avoidant than affectionate and would prefer that you admire him from a respectful distance. He isn't looking to pick a fight—he simply believes personal space is a wonderful thing and would like you to respect his boundaries. But there is one way to get on Gizmo's good side: snacks. Food is a language he understands very well. Fortunately, Gizmo has plenty of other redeeming qualities! He walks nicely on leash, enjoys getting out and about, and plays well with most other dogs. He's independent, entertaining, vocal, and perfectly happy to do his own thing while still being part of the action. So, if your ideal dog is less “snuggle bug” and more “eccentric roommate who occasionally goes for walks with you, loudly shares his opinions, and will absolutely accept snacks,” Gizmo would like to hear from you. Just don't touch him. Seriously. He has boundaries.

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Meet Torrey ❤️ Torrey is an 18-year-old Papillon who is looking for a very special forever home where she can enjoy her golden years in comfort and peace. Torrey is blind and has no teeth. She is not a cuddler and does not enjoy being picked up or fussed over. She is happiest sleeping peacefully on the floor and knowing her person is nearby. She would love a quiet, warm home where she can love you from afar while you respect her boundaries. Because of her age and temperament, Torrey would do best in a calm home without children and with someone who understands that senior dogs can have their own unique ways of showing affection. She doesn't need a lot—just patience, security, a soft place to sleep, and someone who will love her exactly as she is. ❤️ Location: Middlesex, NC and the surrounding RDU area We do not transport dogs. Adopters must be able to travel to meet and adopt Torrey. Adoption fee: $300 If you have room in your heart and home for a sweet senior girl who wants to spend her days peacefully and on her own terms, Torrey may be your perfect match. Sponsorship available, anything helps â¤ï¸Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.October 5, 2026, 12:22 am

Story
We’ve had domino since he was a puppy. He’s 8 and is an extremely loyal dog. As we now have two kids and I travel a good bit for work, he and his brother Dewey don’t get the attention that they once did and were proactively looking for a family that give them the love they deserve. Dewey’s profile is here https://www.adoptapet.com/pet/49351246-holly-springs-north-carolina-feist-mixWe’d like to rehome them together
