Story
I recently adopted Luis, and within the short time he has been in my home I’ve noticed that he has a significant fear of children. He becomes very anxious around them, although he is otherwise an excellent dog. In addition, it appears that my child may be having an allergic reaction to him. Aside from his fear of children, Luis has been wonderful, he sleeps through the night, is crate-trained, walks well on a leash, and has shown no signs of aggression. He just seems to be insecure around children.

Story
Named after a UNC basketball star, Wilson is a true team player—especially when it comes to being your #1 fan. This sweet boy loves to follow his humans from room to room and is always up for a cuddle (or three). Wilson has the perfect puppy rhythm: short, joyful bursts of zoomies followed by serious commitment to naps. He’s doing a great job learning the ropes of crate training and has already decided his crate is prime real estate—especially once he’s dragged all his toys inside. His favorite things include cuddling, crinkle toys, chasing balls, cozy naps, and keeping a close eye on whatever his people are doing. If you’re looking for a loving little sidekick with a fun, snuggly nature and just enough playful energy, Wilson might be your MVP.

Story
Meet Skippy! Skippy is a sweet, curious 9-year-old gentleman who proves that age is truly just a number. While he’s wonderfully calm and easygoing around the house, he still has plenty of pep in his step and enjoys getting out and about. Walks are one of his favorite activities, and he’s always up for a game of fetch or a little toy time to keep things fun. After he’s had his exercise and mental stimulation, Skippy is perfectly content to settle in for some quality relaxation. You’ll often find him lounging in a cozy dog bed or curled up on a soft blanket, soaking in the sunshine or just enjoying the calm of his surroundings. He has a naturally gentle, laid-back demeanor that makes him a lovely companion for quieter moments. Skippy is friendly and social — he does well with other dogs and is comfortable around kids, but he would also thrive as the only dog in the home if that’s the right fit. He’s adaptable, affectionate, and happiest when he’s near his people. One guaranteed way to win him over? Belly rubs. He absolutely lives for them and will gladly roll over to request more. It’s also important to know that Skippy will need a dental procedure to address his teeth, but the good news is that the rescue already has this scheduled and will cover the cost. He’ll be feeling even better in no time, ready to enjoy his golden years comfortably. Skippy would be a wonderful match for someone looking for a low-key but still playful companion — a dog who enjoys activity without needing constant stimulation, and who brings a calm, loving presence into the home. If you’re looking for a sweet senior with a big heart and the perfect balance of energy and relaxation, Skippy may be your guy 🐾
