Story
Bart is a reserved 11 year old Jack Russel/ Cattle dog. In his 11 years, this wise man has seen a lot. He is his own judge of character. Prefers a quiet and calm life. He now shares our lobby with several other friendly, playful pups and he does well. He hangs around to meet new adopters and guest. Might say hello to some or might just walk away. We know he has a crush on our Executive Director. A home including a male would be good. He does well with others when he can approach on his terms. Another dog in the home would be great. Might take Bart a minute to settle in, however, we believe with patience, love, kindness, the trust will come. A home with a fenced yard would be ideal. To adopt this pet, please go to hsnwga.org, 'Adoption' then 'Application for Adoption', to complete an online application to be preapproved. Due to the high volume of applications received, our Adoption Coordinator will only contact the applicant that best meets the needs of the pet.

Story
Check out this cutie! Summit is a male Jack Russell/Boston Terrier mix born September 2020. He is the perfect companion for an adult only home. He is a small stocky dog and only weighs twenty-one pounds. Summit forms a strong bond with his owner and sometimes can be protective. He is a happy little dog when playing with his pals outside. Summit would enjoy the companionship of a well-mannered dog in his new home. If you own a dog, we can arrange a playdate to see if they are a match. He is already housebroken and would enjoy a home with a fenced in yard so he can run and play safely. Summit is a great little dog that will make some lucky family a fabulous pet.To adopt this pet, please go to hsnwga.org, 'Adoption' then 'Application for Adoption', to complete an online application to be preapproved. Story
Heidi is a petite, very sweet, 1 year old (born Jan 2023), tri-pod Rat/Wirehaired Terrier that has "never met a stranger." Also, if you think think losing a leg has slowed her down in anyway, it hasn't. Not 1 bit. Her foster family's love and care was instrumental in her recovery.. Foster Mom said she was up and walking/running with 1-2 days of surgery, like nothing had happened. Heidi loves playing with dogs both big and small, running, exploring and getting all the attention she can get. She loves cats; maybe a bit too much. She will follow them all around and tries to nuzzle them. Most cats do not appreciate that. Heidi loves children but is best with those over five. She may be too rambunctious for little tots. She is already crate trained and almost completely housetrained! Heidi does get distracted when outside on walks, so potty breaks are best in a backyard away from distractions. A fenced in yard is ideal. If you are wanting a wonderful family dog, look no further; Heidi is the complete package. Did I mention she is adorable? You'll fall in love with this sweet face and those ears :):).To adopt this pet, please go to hsnwga.org, 'Adoption' then 'Application for Adoption', to complete an online application to be preapproved. Due to the high volume of applications received, our Adoption Coordinator will only contact the applicant that best meets the needs of the pet.
