Heidi is a petite, very sweet, 1 year old (born Jan 2023), tri-pod Rat/Wirehaired Terrier that has "never met a stranger." Also, if you think think losing a leg has slowed her down in anyway, it hasn't. Not 1 bit. Her foster family's love and care was instrumental in her recovery.. Foster Mom said she was up and walking/running with 1-2 days of surgery, like nothing had happened. Heidi loves playing with dogs both big and small, running, exploring and getting all the attention she can get. She loves cats; maybe a bit too much. She will follow them all around and tries to nuzzle them. Most cats do not appreciate that. Heidi loves children but is best with those over five. She may be too rambunctious for little tots. She is already crate trained and almost completely housetrained! Heidi does get distracted when outside on walks, so potty breaks are best in a backyard away from distractions. A fenced in yard is ideal. If you are wanting a wonderful family dog, look no further; Heidi is the complete package. Did I mention she is adorable? Please read the entire bio for this rescue, it will provide all the information that one needs to decide if they would like to apply to adopt from SCMR.Adoption fee:  $300.00  This is Trouble; named that because his foster Mom would be in trouble for bringing in another dog! Not sure about his breed...either a Chiweenie or a Rat Terrier mix. He is about 18 months old, fully vetted ; weight is 13#. Crate trained,  uses a doggy door.He has been a little anxious/insecure and is currently attending an obedience class. Would probably do best in a quiet household, no cats. Good with older children.He is house trained, loves to go for walks  and rides well in a car. He is being fostered in Chattanooga.    He recently graduated from a manners class.     Adoption Fee:  $300.00 Out-of-state adoptions are possible; however, the approved adoptive home is responsible for making the necessary arrangements to pick up their new little one.   To be considered to adopt me, please fill out an APPLICATION.   NOTE: SCMR DOES NOT adopt to homes with children under the age of 10 years or homes with Electric Fences. Smidge is a 4 month old Fox or Rat Terrier/chihuahua mix. She is currently 7.5 lbs. Smidge loves to play with the cat in her foster home as well as other puppies. She is submissive to larger dogs but would prefer a smaller sized or playful feline companion. She is an energetic girl and loves to play with her toys and run laps around the couch. Once she wears herself out she is happy to sit on your lap and watch TV, she’ll even lay under your blanket with you. Smidge is working on housetraining and crate training; however, she has not yet mastered either and will need time and patience in order to learn these things. He is a small stocky dog and only weighs twenty-one pounds. Summit forms a strong bond with his owner and sometimes can be protective. He is a happy little dog when playing with his pals outside.
