Meet Max! Max is a 7-year-old Jack Russell Terrier mix who has proven just how resilient and determined a dog can be. This sweet boy came to us after being struck by a train, suffering a devastating injury that left one of his back legs nearly severed. Thanks to the incredible efforts of our veterinary team and Max's fighting spirit, he is now well on the road to recovery. To save his life, Max's injured leg had to be amputated. While he's certainly been through more than any dog should, he hasn't let that slow him down. Max is currently recovering in a medical foster home, where his foster family reports that he's adapting quickly to life as a tripod and learning new ways to navigate the world every day. Despite everything he's endured, Max remains a sweet and deserving boy who is ready to leave his difficult past behind and find a family of his own. He may be missing a leg, but he's gained a second chance at life—and now all he needs is a forever home to complete his journey. If you have room in your heart and home for a resilient senior gentleman, Max would love the opportunity to show you just how much love he has to give.
