There you have it! I was living alone in the pound and being a smart and sensitive Jack Russel boy and I was totally shut down.... I didn't want to trust anyone and the loud pound, filled with scared animals who are desperate to get out alive......... and I was one of them. So I was SO SO SO LUCKY, one of the rescue ladies happened to stop by to see ME!! She heard about my predicament being so scared and untrusting.... and she decided to give ME a chance!! NOW I am living the good "foster" life ;) I have lots of friends to hang with and other than the cats I am LOVING my "foster" life :) I am ready for my very own family, I am smart and sweet and may take a day or so to settle in but it will happen and then after that.... you will fall hard for my sweet and CUDDLY personality. ADOPT ME SOON!! I am ready for you! Local adoption fee is $200 (in TX) Out of state adoption fee is $450 (includes transport to your area)

Story
Lady is a 3 year old spayed, microchipped Jack Russell mix. She is housebroken, good with people and most dogs. She's on a diet and exercise program and has lost some weight. Lady loves to go on car rides. She is currently in a foster home.  Volunteers For Animals periodically pulls dogs from other shelters to free up space; this helps avoid euthanizing healthy, adoptable animals. We are able to do this through the generosity of many people such as the originating shelter staff, transporters, foster volunteers and others who help with pulling fees, vet bills and finding good homes once they are here. The adoption process includes an application that is completed by the potential owner. If there are multiple applications on the same animal, the animal will go to the best home for that particular animal - not necessarily the first application. Fees for the rescues animals can range from $100 to $450 per animal which needs to be cash or a check - NO CREDIT CARDS. If you are interested in any of the Rescue dogs, please Contact Us. Do not call the Shelter regarding rescue animals - they have no information about these dogs. All rescue animals are in foster homes with volunteers - NOT at the Shelter - unless otherwise noted.  Here is the adoption process:   To adopt an animal you must complete an application and be approved. There is a $100 fee for any county animal which needs to be cash or a check - NO CREDIT CARDS. If the animal is not spayed or neutered, there is a $35 deposit which will be returned upon proof of surgery. All dogs must be licensed before leaving the Shelter. Please note that public offices that issue dog licenses are not open on Saturdays and Sundays.
