Story
Chico is currently in a rescue in Oklahoma. We are looking for a home in a state where people treat their animals well. He has to be prepaid and picked up directly from transport near one of the cities listed at the bottom. If things don't work out for some reason, which rarely ever happens, he will go back to Oklahoma on our next transport until a new home is found. Chico is a male, possibly a Rat Terrier mix, and is around 4 months old (February 12th). -He weighs 10 pounds. -Was being given away, owner could not take care of him and his brother any longer -Previous owner said the mom is a rat terrier, unsure of father -Does well in a crate -Energetic, full of life. Happy to be here and have dog and human friends to play with. "Typical puppy". -Is not housebroken Video of Chico from February 7th: https://youtube.com/shorts/L6ftMLnSc40 Chico is neutered, vaccinated (Rabies, DHLPPx3, Bordetella), has been dewormed, and on monthly flea/tick/HW prevention. Health certificate, fecal exam, and microchipping will be performed less than 10 days prior to transport. Adoption fee is $1,200 this is including all vetting above and transport cost that we have to pay to professional transporter. Story
Lady is a 7 year old spayed, microchipped Jack Russell mix. She is housebroken, good with people and most dogs. No cats please. She's on a diet and exercise program and has lost almost 10 lbs! She is a great walker and would make a wonderful companion. Lady is currently at the Shelter Volunteers For Animals periodically pulls dogs from other shelters to free up space; this helps avoid euthanizing healthy, adoptable animals. We are able to do this through the generosity of many people such as the originating shelter staff, transporters, foster volunteers and others who help with pulling fees, vet bills and finding good homes once they are here. The adoption process includes an application that is completed by the potential owner. If there are multiple applications on the same animal, the animal will go to the best home for that particular animal - not necessarily the first application. Fees for the rescues animals can range from $100 to $450 per animal which needs to be cash or a check - NO CREDIT CARDS. If you are interested in any of the Rescue dogs, please Contact Us. Do not call the Shelter regarding rescue animals - they have no information about these dogs. All rescue animals are in foster homes with volunteers - NOT at the Shelter - unless otherwise noted.  Here is the adoption process:   To adopt an animal you must complete an application and be approved. There is a $100 fee for any county animal which needs to be cash or a check - NO CREDIT CARDS. If the animal is not spayed or neutered, there is a $35 deposit which will be returned upon proof of surgery. All dogs must be licensed before leaving the Shelter. Please note that public offices that issue dog licenses are not open on Saturdays and Sundays. All cats must leave in a carrier.   Thank you for considering a homeless animal.January 17, 2026, 2:15 pm
