About Yeontan
Yeontan is a sweet and affectionate 3-year-old Terrier mix with a gentle, people-loving personality. He enjoys human attention and loves being close to his people. If you show him interest, he will happily return it with even more affection — rubbing against you, asking for pets, and showing his belly once he feels comfortable.
He tends to prefer women slightly more than men, but he is friendly with strangers and allows handling easily. He can be picked up and held in your arms, and he truly enjoys being cuddled by people he trusts
Personality & Temperament
• Good with people: Yes (very friendly)
• Good with kids: Unknown (has not met children under 13, but expected to do well)
• Good with dogs: Selective
• Good with cats: Unknown (can be tested)
• Energy level: Low to medium
Yeontan is not a “party dog” who plays with everyone. He prefers a small circle of dog friends and enjoys calm, gentle dogs who are similar in size or have a softer personality. He does not like large or very high-energy dogs and may avoid them.
Daily Life & Training
Yeontan walks nicely on leash without pulling. He follows his handler well and enjoys calm outdoor time rather than intense activity
He currently does outdoor potty only and is well-mannered in a kennel. He does not show signs of separation anxiety or excessive barking.
Other Behaviours
• No food guarding with people or dogs
• May guard toys slightly from other dogs
• Will bark at dogs who play too roughly with him
• Not aggressive, just communicates boundaries
• Nervous about getting into cars (needs to be carried in), but once inside, he rides well with no motion sickness
Ideal Home
Yeontan would do best in a calm home with gentle, patient adopters who enjoy companionship more than intense activity. A home with no dogs or with one small, calm dog would be ideal. He would thrive with someone who enjoys cuddling, relaxed walks, and spending quality time together
Rescue Story
Yeontan entered a high-kill shelter in November 2025 and was scheduled for euthanasia. At the time he was found wearing a white collar, which suggests he once had an owner but was likely abandoned. He was rescued in early December and brought to the AKR Center, where he has been safe and cared for ever since
