"MISTY" is a KOKONI/JACK RUSSELL MIX about 2 years old and weighs approx. 6 kg or 12 pounds. Anastasia found her while going to the market, just walking on the side of a highly trafficked road, right by the exit to the highway. She immediately picked her up - thanking the Heavens the little dog didn’t follow the way leading to the big artery. After a brief visit with our vet for all the proper exams and a clean health bill she brought her to our sanctuary, where jolly "MISTY" fit right in with all our guests. "MISTY" proved very social with animals (dogs and cats) and people. She is inquisitive, playful and fearless. She loves to play with our puppies and then come to the volunteers for her share of pets and cuddles. "MISTY" is very intelligent and quite food oriented, a combination that makes her easily trainable. We have fully vetted, vaccinated, micro-chipped and spayed "MISTY" all the while making sure she gets housebroken and leash trained. "MISTY" would be happy in any sort of family setting. If interested in adopting our clever girl "MISTY" please visit our website to fill out an application at; www.straypawsfromgreece.com Please also SHARE this posting to help us find her a forever family and home

Meet Bao — Sweet, Loyal, and Ready for Her Forever Family!   Name: Bao Age: 3 years Sex: Spayed Female Spayed: Yes Breed: Terrier Mix Color: Black/Brown/White Weight: 7.5kg Height (shoulder): 41cm   Rescue Story   Bao entered a city shelter in 2023 with her mother. She was rescued at around 4 months old and spent about 2 years in a foster home looking for an adopter in Korea, but without success. She joined AKR in mid-October to prepare for her chance at a forever home overseas.   ‍‍ Socialization with People   Bao lived with a single foster guardian for nearly 2 years, so she naturally forms a deep bond with one person. Once she trusts you, she becomes incredibly loyal and affectionate — a true one-person “velcro dog.”   At first meetings, she may be shy, but she warms up quickly with treats and gentle interaction. She has done well with children under 13 and can be picked up comfortably by placing arms under her belly. Once she’s comfortable, she happily shows her belly for rubs.   Socialization with Dogs   Bao is sociable and gets along well with other dogs.   Just like she bonds strongly to a favorite person, she may also become very attached to a particular dog friend. If that dog doesn’t want to play with her, she may whine a little to get their attention — it’s part of her sweet, clingy charm.   She plays well with both large and small dogs. If another dog barks or tries to provoke her, she does not react or fight back — instead, she runs to her guardian for safety. She generally prefers people over dogs.   Cats   She has shown interest and playful whining when seeing cats outdoors. A home-cat test is available upon request.   Energy Level   Moderate — she enjoys outdoor activities, running, and playtime, but settles calmly afterward. In her foster home, she enjoyed 1–2 hours of walking and play each day.   ‍ Walks   Bao has plenty of walking experience. She does not pull, follows her handler well, and loves going for walks and exploring new places.   Other Behaviors • No food guarding toward people or dogs • Not severe separation anxiety, but she may whine if her person suddenly leaves the room • Strong people attachment — wants to be near her person • May bark when hearing outside noises • Gets car-sick and may need to be monitored during rides • Prefers outdoor potty   If Bao sounds like the loving companion you’ve been looking for, please submit an application today Adoptmekr.org Currently in South Korea (available for international adoption!) Meet Vanilla   Name: Vanilla Age: 6 years Sex: Spayed Female Breed: Terrier mix Color: Beige/White Weight: 5kg Height (shoulder): 23cm   Her Rescue Story   Vanilla was found in a temple parking lot in late August 2025 and brought to a city shelter. Despite being gentle and calm, she was placed on the euthanasia list — but was thankfully rescued just in time. Now she’s safe, cherished, and waiting for a loving family.   ‍‍ Social with People   Vanilla is quiet, calm, careful, and incredibly gentle. When called, she approaches slowly, lies down, and shows her belly. She allows handling, being picked up, and enjoys quiet affection. She’s still a bit unsure around men, but has no avoidance or fear reactions. She is expected to do well with children under 13 due to her soft temperament.   Social with Dogs   Vanilla minds her own business and rarely engages other dogs. She tends to be intimidated by larger dogs and will politely move away. Even when getting attention from humans, she may relocate if other dogs crowd around. She currently doesn’t initiate play, but may become more confident once settled in a home.   With Cats   Likely to be fearful — cat testing can be arranged if needed   Energy Level   Low — she enjoys resting, relaxing, and peaceful indoor life. Perfect for a calm, cozy household.   Walks   She walks well and follows her handler, frequently checking in for reassurance. She enjoys quiet areas but may stop or hesitate in busy streets with heavy traffic. With patience and encouragement, she’ll continue to build confidence outside.   Other Notes   No resource guarding — toward people or dogs No separation anxiety No barking Calm & comfortable in a kennel/crate Currently potty trained outdoors   Ideal Home   A relaxed, quiet home with gentle humans who will offer patience, comfort, and security. She’s the perfect companion for someone seeking a peaceful, loving, low-energy dog.   If Vanilla sounds like the perfect match for your family, we’d love to hear from you!  Under AKR Custody Review (Adoption temporarily on hold pending resolution of foster situation) Currently in Vancouver!!! Name: Mongmong Age: 4 years old Sex: Neutered Male Breed: JRT (Jack Russell Terrier) Mix Color: Black, tan, and white Weight: 9.5 kg (20.9 lbs) Height (at shoulder): 32 cm (12.6 inches)   Mongmong is a sweet and affectionate pup who loves people — whether you’re a familiar friend or someone he’s just met, he’ll happily come over for pets and attention. He’s especially gentle with young children and is comfortable being picked up with arms under his belly. Once he warms up, he’ll even show you his belly! He’s curious about other dogs and will approach them to say hello, though he doesn’t typically engage in play. Gentle with cats, not much interest in them. Mongmong has a moderate energy level and enjoys outdoor activities like walks, but settles down calmly afterward. He’s well-behaved on leash, doesn’t pull, and follows his human companion nicely. He is not food aggressive and remains calm in a kennel or during car rides. Mongmong was found injured, likely from a car accident, and was at risk of euthanasia at a municipal shelter. After being rescued, Mongmong had one eye removed due to phthisis bulbi, a condition that caused his eye to shrink and lose function and had hernia surgery on 25.05.01-but he’s recovered beautifully and is now ready for a fresh start Mongmong is a brave little survivor with a heart full of love. Story
Kane | 4yo | Terrier/Schnauzer mix • Neutered male • 6 kg | 30 cm (shoulder height) • Grey / Brown coat • Medium energy Rescue Story   Kane was rescued from a city shelter euthanasia list in November 2023. He spent nearly two years in a private shelter before finally moving to a foster home in early December. Since entering foster care, Kane has been steadily gaining confidence and showing his true personality.   ‍ Human Socialization   Kane is generally friendly with people and not overly shy, though he can become cautious when he feels tense in new situations. Thanks to his affectionate and gentle nature, he warms up quickly. When he first arrived at his foster home, it took about two days for him to bond with his foster mom, and he now happily follows her around.   He currently lives with 3- and 5-year-old children. While he coexists well with them and can go on walks with children, he doesn’t actively seek out attention from kids. Kane is comfortable being picked up with an arm under his belly, and once bonded, he often shows his belly as a sign of trust.   Dog Socialization   Kane is social with both familiar and unfamiliar dogs and often approaches politely to greet and invite play. He is not fearful of larger dogs but tends to be more comfortable with dogs closer to his own size. He prefers calm or moderate-energy dogs and may feel overwhelmed by very high-energy play styles. Even if another dog provokes him, Kane does not react aggressively.   Cats   Kane has not lived with cats. On walks, he may look at cats with curiosity, but he responds well to handler guidance and follows along without issue.   Energy Level   Kane has a moderate energy level. He enjoys outdoor activities and walks, but once home, he settles nicely and rests calmly.   ‍ Walks   Kane was initially unsure about walks, but with daily practice in foster care, his confidence has improved greatly. He now enjoys walking and does best when leashed, even with people he doesn’t know well. Interestingly, when off-leash, he tends to ignore people more and is less responsive.   Additional Notes   • No food guarding with people or dogs • Generally quiet and not vocal • Calm and well-mannered in a crate • Currently potty trained for outdoor elimination   Kane is a gentle, affectionate boy who has waited a long time for his chance at a real home. With patience and love, he will make a wonderful companion. Apply to adopt or foster https://adoptmekr.org Please also visit our Facebook or Instagram. Story
Hi, I’m Sarang. 🧡 I’m a 2-year-old boy, small enough to fit right into your arms at just 6kg. I’m a Jack Russell Terrier mix, but people say I’m more like a tiny bundle of gentleness than a terrier. My story didn’t start easy. I was abandoned when I was just a baby and ended up in a shelter. I was even put on the euthanasia list… but someone saw me, believed my life mattered, and rescued me just in time. That’s why I’m here today — a little miracle with a very big hope for a family. Because I grew up in a small, crowded shelter, I learned to be careful with the world. I’m a bit shy and quiet when I meet new people. I like to keep a tiny bit of distance at first… just enough to feel safe. But once I realize someone is kind, patient, and gentle, I slowly open my heart. And when I open it, I really open it. I can take treats from your hand, lean into your arms, and show you affection I’ve kept tucked away for so long. I once stayed with a foster family for a short time, and they said I was an angel — calm in the car, easy to care for, and incredibly sweet. I’m living at a training center now, and I get along well with the other dogs. I try my best not to bother anyone, because that’s just who I am: small, polite, and quiet. I may be tiny, but inside me is a very soft heart that just needs a little time and a lot of love. I haven’t had many chances to experience the world yet, so I’m still learning how to show my feelings. But if I find a real family — someone who won’t rush me, someone who understands my slow pace, someone who will treasure my small but brave heart — I know I’ll bloom. I don’t need much. Just a patient hand. A warm lap. A home where I can finally relax. A family who will help me replace my early memories with new, happier ones. If you choose me, I promise to try my very best — day by day — to trust more, love more, and show you the sweet, gentle boy everyone keeps saying I am. Please adopt me, and let me learn what happiness truly feels like. I’m waiting for the person who will call me family. 🧡 — Sarang

Katrina (Kat) | 4 years old | 35 lbs | Very sweet | GTA Katrina is sweet as pie and easy like Sunday morning. She's gentle and loving, low to medium energy, housebroken, and shows no signs of separation anxiety or resource guarding. She lived in a home with many cats and dogs, so she is generally quite chill around other animals, though she prefers the company of calm animals who won't get in her face. She'd be happy as the only dog in the home or with a compatible, calm cat or dog. She has a low prey drive . Katrina loves to go for walks, do zoomies in the backyard and get scratched around her ears and neck. She's an expert cuddler but also happy to just chill nearby. She's a very easy dog to have around, and has a very balanced and calm temperament. Katrina would fit in so easily with a loving new family. She catches onto routines quickly, loves to tuck in for a sleep on her dog bed, and enjoys walks and outdoor times. She's a quiet gal so who is best suited to an adult home, or home that includes older children. If you can offer Kat soft places to rest, chill walks, lots of scritches and snugs, and a home and family to call her own, then please apply at the link: https://form.jotform.com/pawsacrossthewater/adoption-application
