Please make sure to read the narrative below our pet's photos as you will find a description of our pet with all we know about them, our adoption fee info, and you will find the link to do our online Adoption Application which is the first step in our Adoption Process!     Please read ALL below where you will find answers about the pet, our adoption fees and how to do our adoption application!   Pet Description:  AJ is an eight-year-old male Pekingese looking mix, 13 lbs.  Left with a friend by the owner & that owner never came back for him.  He is a sweet boy, good with male and female dogs. Not a big fan of being crated.  Loves to go for rides.  Loves attention.  Can be a bit food guarding over high value treats so why no children - and he will do that with other dogs and people.  While were told he is housetrained he did come into our office and mark and mark and mark.  He has since been neutered and when on a schedule is doing well but be aware he may not be perfect when he is first settling in.   DOG ADOPTION FEE is $100. This Adoption fee includes: mandatory spay/neuter which will be done before you can take your dog or puppy home with you; basic canine immunizations (DHPP-CPV & Bordatella Intranasal); de-wormings; one-year rabies vaccination if old enough; heartworm test if over five months old; microchip from 24-Pet Watch; certificate for free health examination at your participating veterinarian; and a goodie bag chocked full of information, toys, and more.  (If a dog is sponsored or has a waived or lower fee, that info will be provided at the point of adoption to the approved adopter).   The first step is to our Adoption Application here:  https://elmorehumane.org/adoption-application-online-form2.html .   IMPORTANT – we respond to your emailed applications and queries via email back to you.  Please make sure you have either added our email  (hselco@bellsouth.net)  to your contact list or that you routinely check your SPAM folder for our response just to be safe. Nash is a great pooch! Loves going on walks and riding in car. He's house broken. Plays well with others. Would be best in home without small children. His owner passed recently and needs someone new to protect and serve!!!
