Story
Meet Max, the little survivor with a big heart and an even bigger desire to love his people. Max has already been through a lot in his young life. He was first found as a stray, then taken in by a kind family who, sadly, could not keep him. After that, he was adopted from the humane society by a loving couple, but the woman developed allergies and had to make the heartbreaking decision to let him go. None of this was Max’s fault—and now he’s safe with us and ready for his true forever home. Max’s best qualities Mostly non-shedding coat, a great fit for many allergy-conscious homes (always test first if you have severe allergies). Very clean habits: he uses pee pads by the door, happily goes in the yard, and also potties nicely on leash during walks. Walks well on leash, enjoys going out, and loves being by your side. Affectionate and people-oriented; he seeks attention and will gladly lean in for pets and cuddles. Fully vetted and checked by our vet, with a recent full dental, so his adopters are getting a healthy, well-cared-for companion. Max is the kind of dog who bonds deeply with his people. He would do best with someone who is home often or can include him in their daily routine—walks, couch time, and everything in between. He wants to be part of a family again, not just a dog in the background. If you’re looking for a loyal, low-shedding companion who has already had his medical needs taken care of and is ready to move in and love you, Max might be your perfect match. Interested in meeting Max or learning more about him? Please reach out to us—we’d love to tell you more about this special boy and help him find the forever home he truly deserves.

Story
Theo is a wonderful dog who was given up by his owners because they were unable to train him not to bark at strangers. They stated that he wasn’t “cuddly” and they never bonded with him. We have continually worked on this and he is a smart boy who learns quickly. Unfortunately, their frustrations with him may have resulted in inappropriate treatment. We are also working with him on his fearfulness. He was adopted initially at the age of 8 weeks and his owners had him for 4 years. Theo is a personal favorite of mine at the rescue and I think he’s very special. We really want to see him get a patient and understanding person or family. Theo is a great size for hiking and long walks. Is he the boy for you? Theo is a coated dog (hair grows continuously) and will need professional grooming every 6-8 weeks. Theo’s adoption fee is $300 This fee includes at least one health exam at our veterinarian while in our care, altering, all vaccinations including rabies (as permitted by age), a pre-adoption professional grooming and a microchip with lifetime membership that never will cost you a fee. All dogs also leave with a new collar and or harness and leash as well as a gift bag which includes among other things, a starter bag of the quality kibble that is being fed at the rescue. Adoption fees also allow us the ability to put funds towards the next homeless or unwanted dog in need of rescue! If you would like to be considered to for this adoption or any of our amazing rescues, please fill out the application with the help of this link. https://www.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/AZST/Dog. We review each application carefully. Please understand that sometimes we get numerous applications for specific dogs and as a volunteer-based rescue, we do not always have the time to respond to each one. We do our best to choose the most suitable home for each dog based on their specific personality and needs. Please note you MAY NOT be contacted for up to 10 days to schedule a meet and greet if your family is the most suitable for this rescue dog. Regrettably, we do not have the manpower currently to contact all applicants. We keep ALL applications in our database so please feel free to contact us when you see another dog of interest. We appreciate all applicants and do our best to pair every dog and family for a successful and happy life.

Story
Finding the right home for bonded pairs like Penny and Stewie requires a special kind of adopter—someone who sees "shy" as an opportunity for a deep, rewarding connection. Here are a few versions of a bio you can use for adoption postings, ranging from heartfelt to concise. Option 1: Heartfelt & Detailed (Best for Social Media) Meet Penny & Stewie: Two Hearts Looking for Their Safe Harbor 🐾 Penny and Stewie are a stunning pair of 8-month-old white and apricot Poodles (approx. 18 lbs each) who are looking for a very special "forever." These two are the definition of a bonded pair; they lean on each other for bravery and share a soul. While they are absolute angels with other animals and perfectly submissive in a household setting, they have a "circle of trust" that is currently very small. They tend to pick one human to shower with all their love while remaining fearful of others. When they feel overwhelmed, their instinct is to run and hide. The Ideal Home: • Patience is a must: They aren’t "instant" dogs. They need a family willing to let them bloom at their own pace. • The Reward: Once you’ve earned their trust, you become their entire world. • The Perks: They are fixed, up to date on all shots, and get along beautifully with other pets. If you have a quiet home and a heart big enough to help these two come out of their shells, Penny and Stewie are waiting to meet you.
