Story
Chip is a very handsome, very adventurous puppy. He’s mostly Pekingese with some Japanese Chin, but his personality is pure Frenchie all the way. Think miniature, fluffy Frenchie with floppy ears. Chip is very bonded to his sister. The way they chase one another and wrestle is very entertaining. When they finally settle down to snuggle, it is beyond adorable. We are committed to raising dogs in a more natural, health-span-focused way, and Chip’s adopter must share this philosophy. He's been given nosodes for distemper and parvo. He should remain on a raw diet and free of vaccines other than rabies. If you’re adopting a pet from any rescue or breeder, we strongly encourage learning about the risks of traditional spay and neuter, as well as modern alternatives. This website has excelent articles about the subject: https://www.parsemus.org/project/how-spaying-and-neutering-affect-health/ https://www.parsemus.org/2025/07/canine-testosterone-for-spay-neuter-syndrome/ We’re seeking a San Diego–based adopter so Chip can remain part of our healthy pets program. Apply to adopt this cutie here: https://form.jotform.com/220201142166135 Important notes: Dog-handling experience is required. He is high-energy, strong-willed, fearless, and fast. If a door is opened by someone who doesn't have voice control over Chip, he may take the opportunity to bolt through. He has no natural fear of larger. He's been bitten because he doesn’t respond appropriately to warning signals. His adopter must be willing to continue training. Chip listens well to his foster parent, but long-term reliability will depend on building a strong guardian relationship and investing consistent time and leadership (under the guidance of a professional if needed). In short, Chip is a little dog with a huge, joyful personality. He spends every waking moment celebrating life, which is why we joke that his full name is actually “Chip Chip Hooray.” If you could use more love and light in your life, Chip may be the perfect partner.

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Teddy is a sweet boy who was found with his four littermates last summer. They were in their owner's home, and the owner had passed. All of Teddy's littermates have found homes, but Teddy is still looking for his. He's a sweet boy who loves to sunbathe, lie on your bed or couch, and just chill with you. He's not much into toys, but he does love hugs and kisses. He's deaf so he doesn’t come when he’s called, but if he sees you, he will come running.  Teddy is one of the friendliest little guys we’ve ever had and so deserving of a home where he can be loved for the rest of his life . He’s located in Orange County, California, and we would love to either find a foster for him or hopefully his forever home. One thing Teddy is not fond of: crates. We guess he never got used to one, because he panics and/or cries when he is in one (He will tolerate riding in one in the car, but don't try to listen to the radio. Your trip's accompaniment with Pekingese laments.)Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.March 16, 2026, 6:17 pm

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Sandie was found as a stray and taken to a shelter. She is a very sweet little girl who charms everyone she meets. She can sometimes be shy or even frightened around new people. We don't know what happened to her before she wound up in the shelter. She may have been mistreated, or she could have lacked the proper socialization that would allow her to know that strangers do not mean danger most of the time ... but she does warm up given some time to get used to new people and places.  She is a darling little fluffball who we would like to see have a home with a yard. She LOVES to play in a yard and roll around on grass, so we'd like her to have that opportunity. If she does have a yard it must have a fence, and she will need to be watched when she is outside, especially if her new home is in an area where coyotes and other wild critters live.  As it can take awhile for her to warm up to new people, her home should be in Orange County or close to it so we can help with that if needed.  She can be left alone without issues and did well in a confined area in her foster's home. She rides well in a crate in a car and also sleeps in one. She likes other dogs but probably would do better as an only dog -- once she knows and trusts you, her favorite thing is being around you all the time. Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.March 16, 2026, 6:17 pm

Story
ATTENTION:  All of our dogs are in private foster homes.  We do NOT have a kennel with multiple dogs.  If you find a dog you want to meet in person, please go to www.secondchancedogrescue.org and complete an application.    We will make every attempt to process all applications within 3 business days of receipt. Meet Sebastian! Sebastian is a 2.5-year-old, 8 lb. Pekingese/Poodle mix with a tender heart and a story of resilience. This little guy had a very difficult start in life and arrived at the shelter scared, dirty, and severely matted. After getting him groomed, healthy, and up to date on vaccinations, we’ve spent the past month helping him decompress and begin to trust again. Sebastian is making progress, but he’s still early in his journey. For the first month, he wouldn’t allow any human handling. With patience and gentle encouragement, he’s slowly starting to feel safer, but he will need a very special adopter who understands that trust will take time. His ideal home is calm, secure, and filled with patience and love. He must go to an experienced dog owner who is committed to continuing his progress at his pace. A home with at least one friendly, playful dog is essential. Sebastian absolutely lights up around other dogs and relies on them for comfort and confidence. Because of his sensitivity, Sebastian cannot be placed in a home with children. He is doing well with potty pads and is very food-motivated, which will help with continued training. Sebastian may not be the kind of dog who warms up overnight, but for the right person, helping him feel safe and loved will be incredibly rewarding. He is neutered, microchipped, and up to date on all vaccines.  His adoption fee is $300.  A refundable training deposit of $100 will be also due upon adoption. Training must be provided in a timely fashion to ensure Sebastian's training needs are met. The training deposit will be refundable within 3 months of the adoption date. All Second Chance Dog Rescue dogs are spayed/neutered, are up to date on vaccines and have microchips prior to adoption.   Adoption fees vary depending on age of dog. Fees help Second Chance Dog Rescue cover spay/neuter costs,   vaccinations, medical treatments, food and supplies. Please go to  www.secondchancedogrescue.org  and complete an application today!    All dogs live in private foster homes until they are adopted.  June 20, 2026, 4:49 pm

Story
Benny is not even a year old, so he still has that puppy vibe! He can be a little shy meeting new people, but he warms up quickly and gets along with everyone. He loves to give his people kisses and snuggle in their laps but he also enjoys playing with toys and other dogs! He is more submissive with our other pups and prefers dogs his own size or smaller. Benny is still learning, but he is mostly housebroken. He is also leash trained and does well in a car. Benny is approx 10 mo old, 17lbs, neutered, microchipped and vaccinated. He is healthy, happy and ready to move in today! If you're interested in meeting Benny, please submit an adoption application on our website at www.dominoeffectanimalrescue.orgJune 10, 2026, 2:46 am
