Story
Chip is a very handsome, very adventurous puppy. He’s mostly Pekingese with some Japanese Chin, but his personality is pure Frenchie all the way. Think miniature, fluffy Frenchie with floppy ears. Chip is very bonded to his sister. The way they chase one another and wrestle is very entertaining. When they finally settle down to snuggle, it is beyond adorable. We are committed to raising dogs in a more natural, health-span-focused way, and Chip’s adopter must share this philosophy. He's been given nosodes for distemper and parvo. He should remain on a raw diet and free of vaccines other than rabies. If you’re adopting a pet from any rescue or breeder, we strongly encourage learning about the risks of traditional spay and neuter, as well as modern alternatives. This website has excelent articles about the subject: https://www.parsemus.org/project/how-spaying-and-neutering-affect-health/ https://www.parsemus.org/2025/07/canine-testosterone-for-spay-neuter-syndrome/ We’re seeking a San Diego–based adopter so Chip can remain part of our healthy pets program. Apply to adopt this cutie here: https://form.jotform.com/220201142166135 Important notes: Dog-handling experience is required. He is high-energy, strong-willed, fearless, and fast. If a door is opened by someone who doesn't have voice control over Chip, he may take the opportunity to bolt through. He has no natural fear of larger. He's been bitten because he doesn’t respond appropriately to warning signals. His adopter must be willing to continue training. Chip listens well to his foster parent, but long-term reliability will depend on building a strong guardian relationship and investing consistent time and leadership (under the guidance of a professional if needed). In short, Chip is a little dog with a huge, joyful personality. He spends every waking moment celebrating life, which is why we joke that his full name is actually “Chip Chip Hooray.” If you could use more love and light in your life, Chip may be the perfect partner.

Story
Fostered in Sacramento Hello Everyone, I’m Charismatic and Charming Carli, a seven year old cream colored princess in a petite 12 pound “package.” My foster parents call me “mellow.” Personally, I prefer being referred to as a “gracefully relaxed companion.” I’m a lovebug, pure and simple, who adores being near my human. Wherever you go, I go. Kitchen? I supervise. Living room? I’ll warm the couch. Bathroom? I’ll guard the door. I just like knowing my person is close and letting my person know I’m here to protect (and love) him or her. Want to know one of my signature moves? I roll over for tummy rubs without even being asked! Why wait? Life is short — rub my belly. I also stand on my hind legs and politely beg with my front paws, tilt my little face, perk my ears, and give you “the look.” Resistance is unlikely. I’m quiet (rarely bark), totally housebroken, and get along beautifully with people of all ages — even gentle children. I’m not the least bit aggressive. Other dogs? I’m always happy to make new friends. As for those creatures called cats? I haven’t formed an official opinion yet. I like my walks, enjoy car rides, love being bathed and groomed (ah!spa days), and am very food motivated. You have snacks? I have focus. While I don’t know many commands I love to learn and am eager to please! My foster mom and dad say that I have the cutest ears they've seen, and that I have ‘selective hearing’ but no special needs, I’m happy relaxing on my dog bed if you’re in another room, and I bring with me a very important quality: a great sense of humor. I will make you laugh just by being my adorable self. If you’re looking for the sweetest little dog on earth… well… look no further. My Ideal Home: – Someone home most of the time – Adults or a family with gentle children – I can coexist with another dog or be the only pup in the home Experience level: – Have had dogs as an adult – Recent/current dog experience a plus There is no doubt that I’m fully committed to my career as a professional cuddle specialist. So if your home needs a sweet, mellow, funny, cute, cuddly little shadow who will love you with all her heart I’m applying for the job. Love and tail wags, Charismatic and Charming Carli

Story
Fostered in Sacramento Hello World, I’m Optimistic and O’mazing Oscar, a handsome cream colored three year old pup (Bichon/Cocker or cockapoo) who tips the scales at 20 pounds and is now living the life I was meant to live. I became a FurKid when my owner move into something called “assisted living.” I wasn’t allowed to join him which made me sad but some Bichon FurKid Angels intervened and now I’m very glad and grateful! My foster Mom wants you to know all about mee so let me start by telling you what I do best: it’s called Fetch. If you say, “Oscar, find your ball,” I’ll search, locate, and proudly deliver it right back to you. It’s my superpower (and Mom says I’m really, really good at it!). I also know commands like “sit,” “ball,” my name (very important), and I’m now learning “off.” The secret to my learning? A desire to please and these special things called “treats.” I am extremely motivated by treats. I have an excellent nose and can detect a snack in your pocket from impressive distances. Don’t worry — I take treats very gently from your hand. I may be enthusiastic, but I am a gentleman! When you talk to me, I tilt my head to the side, deeply considering everything you’re saying. Between me and you, I am probably thinking about snacks. But — I AM listening. I’m playful, curious, and very loving. I enjoy yard time, deck sitting, and “squirrel supervision” responsibilities. Watching the world from the safety of my home base- why that’s an excellent hobby. I will alert you if I see something noteworthy — a bike, a car, a passerby.,, you get the picture! I’m observant and have found my voice. Inside the house and yard, I’m confident and comfortable. I am housebroken and go to the door when I need to go out -- and come back when I’m ready to come in. I walk nicely on my leash in the yard, but the big outside world is still a little overwhelming for me. When it’s time to walk beyond the yard… I become afraid. Mom’s working with me on this and I need a patient human in my forever home who will help build my confidence with gentle, positive experiences. I haven’t seen much of the world yet, but I’m curious about it and just need a little more time. I do well with other dogs, especially ones that can show me the way. I may be fine with a confident dog friend or as your one-and-only. Because I’m still young and can be a little “mouthy” (in a playful way, never biting), I do best with older, dog-savvy kids. Did I mention that I ride nicely in a crate and settle down quickly when riding in the car? Well I do! When I’m left at home, I relax quietly in my crate too. No fuss. No drama! My Ideal Home: -A patient family to give me time to become the best dog I can be – Someone home most of the time – Adults or a family with older dog-savvy kids – A confident dog friend to help me learn or I can be the only pup in the home Experience level: – Have had dogs as an adult – Recent/current dog experience a plus I’m smart, affectionate, and eager to please. And I have so much potential. I’m looking for someone who understands that underneath my sometimes cautious approach is a playful, devoted companion who wants to learn, explore, and bond deeply with his special person. Give me patience. Give me guidance. And maybe… give me a treat. And I’ll give you a loving heart for the rest of our lives. Tail wags and promises Optimistic and O’mazing Oscar
