Story
I'm the brown girl! I am a sweet, cuddly senior with a heart full of love. I'm happiest curled up next to my trusted people, enjoying quiet companionship. I would do best in a calm, predictable environment. I can be anxious and fearful around new people, other dogs, and direct attention, so slow introductions are very important. Diesel helps me to feel safe. I have always been a respectful housemate to cats and birds in the past. I'd do best in a home with older children, 13 years old and older. General Socialization Notes: I would prefer quieter environments. I am fearful of new people and new environments but will warm up with time and patience. I am fearful of other dogs except my best friend, Diesel. I know sit, wait, and lay down. I am very well mannered. Does Jazz like other animals? I am fearful of other dogs except Diesel. I would do best in a home that wants to just take in the two of us. I've been fine with cats and birds. Does Jazz like children? I'd do best in a home with children 13 years old and older. Favorite Toys: I'm not much for toys, but I do love treats. I love being close to my buddy, Diesel. Ideal Forever Home: I am looking for a loving, low-stress home with my bonded companion Diesel. A calm, older person or a couple with a yard would be perfect for both of us! I'm a very sweet, low energy girl. My ideal day involves lounging in a sunny spot, enjoying gentle affection, and having Diesel, my best friend, nearby to help me feel secure. I'd do best with older children, 13 years old and older.

Story
Highlights: Must be the only dog in the home Meet Simonne, a 7-year-old, 25-pound Welsh Corgi whose shy demeanor hides a heart longing for love and affection. Though a bit reserved at first, it's clear that Simonne deeply desires to be petted and cherished, trying her best to overcome the shadows of her past. Simonne is quite selective about her canine companions and will need to be the only dog in her new home to truly thrive and feel secure. Her choosiness ensures harmonious relationships, as she seeks a perfect fit for her forever home. This very sweet girl just needs a patient adopter who will give her the time and space she needs to come out of her shell. With the right care and understanding, Simonne will blossom into the confident little Corgi she’s meant to be. Are you ready to offer Simonne the loving and supportive home she deserves? She’s eager to find a family who will help her grow and become the joyful companion she’s destined to be. - - - - - Prior to being rescued, many of our dogs have experienced minimal socialization. As a result, there is often an adjustment period when learning about life as a family pet. We typically do not adopt to homes with young children. Homes with older children will be considered on an individual basis. Common skills such as house training and leash walking will often take a little extra time. Patience, understanding and a gentle hand are a must. The great news is, most of these dogs come around rather quickly and being a part of their rehabilitation is an extremely rewarding experience. Adoption Fee: $475 When available, all animals are fixed in accordance with Colorado law, up to date on vaccines (may need boosters), and microchipped! What we know: Transferred from Espanola Humane in Espanola, NM at 3 years old, 48lbs; fixed and rabies complete. Was set for euthanasia along with Einstein after they were accused of killing a chicken. *Louie needs a secure yard* From the foster: Louie has now shared our home for 11 days. We have gone from potty in the house to now using a doggy door and no pottying in the house. Louie is potty trained now too. He is smart and very loyal. He goes to work with me everyday so he has become really attached to me. He is my shadow. Louie LOVES all people. Dogs? We haven’t quite figured out how he feels about dogs. We have 2 dogs, 9 & 11 years old. They simply coexist in our home. They don’t play together. They don’t sleep together, they just live together. Louie is quiet as a mouse at home and a little loud at the adoption events with all the dogs barking and crying. Louie would love a family that simply loves him. Small kids would probably not be good for Louie, or the kids. He loves everyone but could knock small kids down accidentally while trying to kiss them. Louie has short strong legs. He can jump and greets most folks with a jump. We are working on a high five instead. We don’t know much about Louie’s life before us, but we think he spent a lot of time outside and not so much time in a house with people. He tried to sit at Thanksgiving dinner with us and the turkey. Right next to the turkey on the table. Again, strong legs and not much time spent inside. He is learning manners and will need a new family to keep teaching those manners. He is great on car rides and jumps right in the back seat when it is time to go to work or the rescue. If you need a shadow to follow you around your house, please come meet Louie. www.coloradopuppy.org/how-to-adopt

Story
Finn was rescued from a kill shelter in TX several years ago. He’s been living with us for the last 5 years. He has been the sweetest dog I’ve ever owned. He plays with toys and is equally happy snuggling up on the couch. He likes walks and hikes and has been trained to heel. He is fully house broken and roams the house freely. He’s also kennel trained and sleeps there at night. He’s a dog with a lot of personality and love to give. We are rehoming Finn because we were able to adopt a young child after years of infertility and unfortunately, he doesn’t get along well with children. We want him to find a home where he is loved, given lots of snuggles, and plenty of treats. We believe he will bring light and joy to your home just as he has into ours.

Story
Comet is a  as bright and full of energy as his name suggests! Weighing in around 23 pounds, this handsome pup is playful, curious, and full of personality. He loves to wrestle with his much larger foster buddy, BG, and holds his own with confidence and enthusiasm. Comet is a quick learner and already shows off some great manners — he’s crate trained, house trained, knows how to sit, and is doing well on leash (still working on not pulling, but he’s eager to please, especially when treats are involved!). This smart boy does great with other dogs, kids, and people once he has a little time to warm up. He’s still young, so with the right introductions, he’d likely do well with cats, too. Comet has a medium-to-high energy level — he’s still in his puppy phase, after all — and will thrive with playtime, walks, and a bit of training to keep that sharp mind busy. After getting his zoomies out, he loves nothing more than curling up next to his person for some well-earned cuddles and pets. Comet would be a great fit for an active family or adopter who’s ready to continue his training and give him lots of love and adventure. With his smarts, charm, and sweet nature, this pup is sure to make a stellar companion!  ##2550567##
