Story
Pixie spark. Floppy ears. Foxy little face…it has been head over heels, love at first site with everyone who has met her! She has those eyes that promise to keep your secrets and bring the joy we all look for in life. Lyra Foxglove Fable is 24 pounds of compact charisma with a fluffy little booty that hints at corgi, a delicate teeny-tiny shepherd silhouette, and can be summed up by saying “who even knows but she’s adorable!” She’s estimated to be just over a year old and fully committed to living life in a joyful, sparkly font. (Rescue rules apply, so breed and birthday are our best guess.) Want to see this fox-faced cutie in motion? Head to YouTube and then come right back to learn more about this tiny twinkle babe. https://youtu.be/r-p0gjBsNOw Lyra is, in the most affectionate terms possible, a sweetie lovey baby. She is incredibly cuddly, leans in for affection and is happy, bright, and deeply people-connected. With other dogs, she has already RSVPed “YES” to the party! She is bouncy, excited, and eager to play with dog friends from the moment she meets them. Medium to small social dogs are absolutely her wheelhouse. She respected aloof dogs who wanted space, but with more submissive pups she can slide into “tiny boss lady” mode and start herding but can still shift back into play easily. And yes… she is very much a herding girly. If there is a puppy to organize, she will organize it. If there is chaos to manage, she will manage it. If there is a dog smaller and softer than her… she may attempt to run the meeting. We won’t knock that confidence! Lyra is both house and crate trained and has shared space around food calmly with another dog and showed zero need to guard. Apartment sized? Absolutely. Apartment quiet? That may depend. She does have a voice and she is not shy about using it. We saw hints of it but her foster shared that she has been known to howl on occasion. We cannot know what it sounds like when the house is empty but we suspect she has a full symphony ready if left bored or under-stimulated. Mental enrichment, playtime, and clear routines will be her best friend. Cats? She was respectfully cautious with our house cat and showed playful curiosity. We can set her up for a sleepover with out Kitty Committee, but our instincts say with proper introductions and structure, she could absolutely learn that cats are roommates, not playmates.. Lyra is for a person who wants sparkle, glitter, joy, and absolute giddiness. The family who appreciates a little fox-faced cutie with supervisor tendencies. And a home that understands that herding dogs are brilliant, busy, and happiest when they have guidance and outlets for their brain. Her size is perfect for ease, her spirit big enough to adore beyond measure. On top of that, she is sweet enough to melt you and smart enough to keep you on your toes. If you’ve been waiting for a pixie with personality, Lyra Foxglove Fable is ready to light up your whole world! Apply today and let big love with a tiny dog begin! https://adopt.animalsfirst.com/animal/62cc8e128b02916730334440/697689799d5147ad180e1f79 Questions?
