Story
Name- Dari Age-2ish Breed-Corgi What was your life like before NDCB/Where did you come from? I came from a breeder and then these wonderful people with NDCB got me Who is your main caretaker/favorite person now? I love my foster mommy and sister but starting to come around to my foster daddy. Are you good with kids? What age ranges? I live with a 9 year old foster sister and I love her. Are you good with other dogs? I am a dog selective. There are some in my foster home I love and some I don't care for due to this I need to be an ONLY dog. Are you good with cats? Yes. I live with cats in my foster home and I usually ignore them. Are you housebroken? I am starting to go outside by myself now and come back in. I do need more training so please don't get upset with me if I have accidents at times. What is your current potty routine? My foster mommy is home all day with me so I'm starting to bark when I need let out. I do well in a kennel and puppy pen so if you do need to leave me alone at times. Do you like car rides? I usually just lay down and go to sleep. Do you like walks? How are you on a leash? My foster mommy hasn't taken me on many walks because of the cold weather but I do well on a leash. Do you like toys? What is your favorite toy? I haven't played with many toys but I do love a good bone. Do you know any commands/tricks? I'm starting to learn what sit is but I'm a very smart boy and eager to learn. How are your house manners? When I am out exploring at my foster home I'm very well behaved. I usually follow my people around. I am starting to learn all about going to the bathroom outside. Describe your personality- I am a cute, smart boy. I am still a little scared so please don't back me into a corner or pick me up too fast. I love attention but you will have to gain my trust. I will put my cute 2 front paws on your leg when I want rubbies and attention. Describe your perfect home- I would like to be an only dog in the household so I can get all the snuggles. I would love a nice warm couch to curl up on and watch a good movie. I will need to be with kids 10 and older due to little kids might scare me.

Story
Fostered in Sioux City Name- Kolter Age- 1 & 1/2 Breed- long haired Corgi What was your life like before NDCB/Where did you come from? I came from a breeder and then these amazing ladies came and rescued me Who is your main caretaker/favorite person now? I love my foster mommy Are you good with kids? What age ranges? I live with a human foster sister who I love but little kids will scare me so I need to go to a home with kids age 10 and older that will understand I'm still very scared. Are you good with other dogs? Yes, I love to play with other dogs. I'm still young so have tons of energy. Are you good with cats? Yes, I live with cats in my foster home. I like to play with them. Are you housebroken? This is a new territory for me so I'm learning. I do go outside by myself now and will wait by the door to be let back inside. What is your current potty routine? My foster mommy is home all day with me so I'm starting to learn to go to the back door to go outside. I'm still learning so please be patient and don't get mad at me if I do have accidents. Do you like car rides? Car rides scare me so I like to sit in the drivers seat with my person so if I'm going on a car ride a kennel would probably be safer until I get used to them. Do you like walks? How are you on a leash? I haven't been on walks because I do not like leashes yet. This is going to take some training for me to learn that a leash is OK. Do you like toys? What is your favorite toy? I'm starting to learn what toys are and they're so fun. I love anything that squeaks. I also love slippers and shoes so those will have to be put up. I don't chew them I just like to carry them around 😄 🤣 Do you know any commands/tricks? I'm a very smart, young boy eager to learn. I would learn tricks very easily. How are your house manners? I like to carry shoes and slippers around. I don't chew stuff and am well behaved when I'm out exploring the house. I do go in a kennel when my foster mommy isn't home. Describe your personality- I'm a cute boy that has really came out of my shell and came so far in the 3 weeks I've been with my foster mommy. I'm starting to learn what toys are, going potty outside, and learning that people are awesome. Describe your perfect home- I need a home that is patient with me. I'm still scared and quick movements might startle me. I need an owner that understands I need to be reassured daily that people are ok. I love to play with other dogs, get attention on my terms. Please do not back me in a corner as this will scare me. I like to go in my kennel when I want to if the door is left open. I'm a sweet boy looking for my perfect home. Young kids will scare me so I only want a home with kids that are 10 and older please.

Story
Ellie Mae is a sweet Corgi puppy (born April 2025) looking for a family who would like to play with her, take her on walks and teach her everything she needs to know as she grows.  She is crate trained and friendly with dogs and cats.  Ellie Mae likes to speak her mind and will occasionally dig in the yard as puppies tend to do.  She's doing very well with house training, but still needs to be supervised.  The perfect home for Ellie Mae will have a fenced yard and people who will make sure she gets the exercise she needs. Previous herding dog experience would be a plus!  She has not been around children, so we're not sure how she would do.  Ellie Mae walks okay on her leash, but will benefit from some additional training. The suggested adoption donation for Ellie Mae is $415, which includes a lifetime of free relationship-based training for any behavioral problems (not obedience training). Muddy Paws is a 501c3 non-profit organization meaning that part of your donation MAY be TAX DEDUCTIBLE. We are a 100% volunteer rescue committed to giving animals a second chance at life. All donations go toward that mission. Adoption fees are the primary source of funding for the cost of veterinary care for our animals. In 2022 alone, we provided animal Healthcare totaling over $399,000 covered mainly through adoption fees.   Please Note: A Courtesy Post designates that an animal is still in the home of its owner and not in a Muddy Paws foster. This means that our exposure to the animal is limited since we only assist the owner in finding a new home for their pet. From time to time, owners find a new furever home for their pets outside of Muddy Paws Last Chance Rescue, and there is a delay in removing them from our site. We apologize if the Courtesy Post you apply to adopt is unavailable for adoption.   Information about the adoption process: All adoptions require a completed ADOPTION APPLICATION. Once your application has completed our prescreen steps, we will put you in touch with the animal’s foster to see if you and the pet are a good match. If so, we will arrange a meeting for you and the animal. The adoptions for all of our animals will take place in the Omaha, NE area and must be done by the adoptive family in person. We do not ship or deliver. Please Note: We are a RESCUE, which is different from a shelter. We conduct veterinary and personal reference checks, and a Home Visit (Virtual in some cases) during the application approval process. We always select the right applicant for each animal, based on the animal’s needs. If you and the animal are not a good match, we will help you select another animal, or we will keep your approved application on file for 6 months.   To learn about Muddy Paws Last Chance Rescue or donate to our animals, please visit our website at MuddyPawsSecondChanceRescue.com or our Facebook Page Muddy Paws Second Chance Rescue Inc. ##2524853##
