Story
Meet Minerva, aka Minnie! Minnie’s life took a turn when her elderly guardian moved and she lost her lifelong home. This shy tortie has been through a lot, but with patience, love, and maybe a little bribery in the form of treats, she’s finally starting to show her true personality. She’s not the type to rush into your arms—she likes to inspect, approve, and then maybe settle in—but once she decides you’re cool, she’s basically a velvety little lap heater with built-in purr engine. Minnie is classy, well-mannered, and quietly hilarious if you pay attention. She has impeccable litter box habits, keeps herself groomed like a tiny tortie fashionista, and loves her hideaway spots like a queen’s throne. A sunny window, a cozy cat tree, or a secret box? She approves. Need a companion who can silently judge your life choices but still cuddle you later? Minnie is your girl. Her perfect home is calm, indoor-only, without kids, and ideally as the one-and-only pet… though a gentle cat or dog who respects her space might get lucky. Vet visits? Not her fave—some mild sedation may be required—but the payoff is worth it: a cat who will gift you a lifetime of trust, soft purrs, and subtle sass. Minnie is currently in a loving foster home. A meet and greet can be scheduled once an online application has been submitted and approved by AFRP staff. Visit www.animalfriendsrescue.org to fill one out today!

Story
Meet Watson! This kitty is a lively, talkative, zoomie-powered icon who always has something to say 🎶 Returned to AFRP with his bonded brother Chip through no fault of their own, Watson is ready to bring commentary, comedy, and constant entertainment to his forever home. Watson’s daily agenda includes: 🎤 Narrating his thoughts (play now. pets now. why computer??) 🏃‍♂️ Daytime zoomies that come out of nowhere 🧶 Playing with literally anything—string, toys, imaginary enemies 💆‍♂️ Declaring the Kong cat brush the greatest invention of all time 😼 Loud meowing, trilling, and dramatic side-eye if brushing stops 🐦 Chattering specifically at crows (he has standards) Watson is a pro at respecting foster mom’s morning coffee ritual… but once she's ready to work on her computer? Absolutely not. That’s when Watson invents his own games to lure her away from “work” and back to what really matters: him. Bonded to his brother Chip (non-negotiable 💕), Watson loves lounging on cat trees, watching premium “cat TV” through the windows, and showing off his hunting skills by chasing the occasional fly around the apartment. These two are a perfectly balanced duo of playful chaos and cozy companionship. Watson would thrive in a home with adult adopters or cat-savvy teens 15+. His experience with other pets is currently unknown, as he’s only ever lived with Chip. ** This pet is a Foster-to-Adopt candidate! That means you can foster them for a short trial period to make sure they’re the perfect match for your home before finalizing the adoption. If you’re interested, please complete both a foster application and an adoption application so we can get the process started. ** Interested in adopting Watson? Story
Meet Kitty Pryde! This gorgeous girl came to AFRP with her siblings as undersocialized kittens, but they have learned to love humans, other cats and dogs in foster care. And they are now ready for their own homes! Kitty Pryde is a beautiful, sweet and curious girl. She may be just the perfect combination of playful and snuggly. Kitty is a longhair kitten so she will require regular brushing to prevent matting - fortunately she loves to be brushed! Kitty is very fond of other cats and would love to find a home with a feline friend. She also does well with small, cat-savvy dogs. She hasn’t met children but would likely do well with children over the age of 10. ** This pet is a Foster-to-Adopt candidate! That means you can foster them for a short trial period to make sure they’re the perfect match for your home before finalizing the adoption. If you’re interested, please complete both a foster application and an adoption application so we can get the process started. ** Kitty Pryde is currently at our adoptions location inside Pet Food Express at the Crossroads in Carmel. Meet and greet can be arranged once an online application has been received and approved.
