Meet Tofu — a gentle, golden boy with a heart of pure sweetness. A Special Kitty With a Special Story Tofu is a quiet, sensitive soul who can be shy at first. Loud noises and quick movements make him nervous, but once the house settles down, he’ll happily appear at your side for gentle pets and companionship. He’s not a fan of being held, but he loves being near you — often curling up at the foot of your bed or settling into a nearby chair to keep you company. One of Tofu’s cutest features is the tiny white spot on the top of his foot, which stands out against his beautiful solid orange coat — it’s impossible not to smile when you see it. Tofu adores squeeze-up treats, scratch pads, and of course, a good catnip session! As a very young orphaned kitten, Tofu suffered a suckling injury that left him unable to urinate on his own. Thanks to dedicated veterinarians, he underwent surgery that allows him to live a happy, comfortable life today. Because of his early injury, he does best on a special urinary diet and can be prone to urinary tract infections. Keeping his back end neatly trimmed and clean helps keep him healthy and comfortable. Despite his history, Tofu is thriving — he just needs someone willing to keep up with his simple routine. Tofu is currently in a foster home, but his gentle nature means he sometimes gets picked on by the bolder resident cats. He would do best in a calm, quiet household with no young children and either: • very friendly, submissive cats, or • being your one-and-only gentle companion. He gets along well with respectful dogs and cats who won’t overwhelm him. Because of Tofu’s special needs, we are open to a foster-to-adopt arrangement to make sure it’s the perfect match for both Tofu and his new family.
