Magnolia is such a cutie! And he is significantly larger than his sisters. He is the first one to get fixed in a group of 4 so if you are looking for 2 kittens he could go with any of his sisters once they are fixed. He would also do well in a home with other kittens or cats. He loves to play and THAT FACE! So much love to give. He tested positive for FIV. He is our first kitten to test positive. It may be a false positive b/c he is young, but he may have FIV. If he has FIV, he can still live a long and healthy life. He will need to be an indoor cat and fed a healthy diet to keep his immune system strong. He is a very healthy kitten, so odds are it is a false positive. His Mom, Maggie, is FIV positive. Kittens can get FIV (Feline Immunodeficiency Virus) from their mother, but it is quite rare. Transmission can happen during pregnancy, birth or through the mother’s milk, but most kittens born to an FIV-positive mother do not get the virus themselves. Standard FIV tests look for antibodies to the virus, not the virus itself. When a mother has FIV, she passes these protective antibodies to her kittens through her milk. Because of these maternal antibodies, an infected mother’s kittens will often test positive for FIV during their first few months of life, even though they aren't truly infected.
