Please read listings fully to the end before applying for one of our beloved rescues.
WE ARE NOT A SHELTER; WE ARE AN ALL-VOLUNTEER RESCUE WITH FULL-TIME JOBS.
Please do not contact us to look at a dog. We will contact you once we have reviewed your completed application if we think your home might be a good fit. A reference check, phone interview, and home visit will be completed before meeting an adoptable dog.
We work quickly. Please do not submit an application until you are ready to bring a new furry family member home. Expect your references to be contacted shortly after submitting your application. We adopt out to homes around WA state, but require that you are present for the meet and greet in Newcastle, WA.
Our adoption fee is non-negotiable. The adoption fee is due on the day of adoption in the form of a check, Zelle, PayPal only if you are will to pay the extra fees they charge the rescue, or cash.
Lulu’s story makes you realize, you must have something in place for your furry children & someone who you really can count on if something were to happen to you.
Poor sweet & so beautiful Lulu. It’s our understanding that a man was terribly cruel to this precious little lady who was rescued just before she was about to lose her life in a extremely overwhelming & over crowded death camp of a shelter in Changwon, Korea.
She was pulled by the Korean rescue just in time to save her precious life. We were asked could we help LuLu a few years ago & we did. We found her a wonderful, extremely devoted mum.
We received a voicemail from a local shelter letting us know that Lulu & her friend were in the shelter & they needed help. They knew to call us because we were listed on Lulu’s microchip & paperwork. Thanks goodness we were. It turns out that Lulu mum trusted her daughter in-law if something were to happen to her, she would take care of her beautiful furry children & love them & treat them as her own. Unfortunately she did not do that. She made it very clear to the shelter she did not want them & did not care what was going to happen to them. The shelter let her know that both Lulu & her friend were going to be euthanized as she was signing them over. She made it clear that she could care less. The state they were dropped off in was absolutely terrible & she had been going & checking on them while their mum was in the hospital. They were both left alone in the home. Their fur was a matted to the skin mess. They were very dirty & needed to be shaved down. Lulu brother had a skin infection which we treated & he needed medically the works. Their mum was in the hospital dying & she truly loved her furry children. Lulu & her friend were her world, one of her friends told us & would do anything for them. We were not going to leave Gibson there the friend & just take Lulu. So now LuLu needs a devoted forever home all over again & will cherish her for the remainder of her life & be patient & understanding of what she has been through.
Lulu was rescued by the amazing Korean rescue & just as always we are beyond grateful to the Korean rescue & we are so extremely grateful for what they do day in & day out for these babies & there is also such a great financial responsibility when rescuing these babies so we cannot begin to thank them enough.
Please do not apply if you are not willing to give Lulu time to adjust in her new environment! It can take weeks even months for these babies to adjust. If you are not willing to commit to this & be understanding, our rescues are not for you.
The stunning Lulu has lost her whole world & has no clue what happened to her. She has had people let her down to many times & now we need to find her that special forever home. She is slow to warm up to new people, but who could blame her? Then once she has built that trust with you, you become her world, her everything.
Some men she does not like at all as they clearly represent her past. But then some men she loves & trusts. One of the kennel attendants at our vets built a lovely relationship with Lulu & she adores & trusts him & will let him do anything with her.
What we do know is, she loves to eat & is not shy about eating.
Lulu loves other dogs & gets along well with all breeds of dogs & when she is comfortable & confident she will play with the other dogs. She absolutely needs to be a pack dog as it builds her confidence. When comfortable, Lulu with play with balls as she enjoys balls & did in her previous foster home. She also likes a good couch.
In her new forever home she must have a fully fenced backyard.
Lulu loves to be held & picked up once she knows & trusts you. After you have built that bond with her.
Lulu rides well in the car, but is nervous until she knows you. She has been learning to walk on her harness & leash but would still need continued work.
Lulu is nervous & frightened at first until she knows & trusts you with her baths. But once she knows you, she is good.
We are & only looking for a crate free home for this little lady only. She wanted out of the crate after the flight originally when we rescued her. Lulu as you can imagine spent such a long time in the shelter in a caged environment in Korea & is still fearful of them & was dumped in a shelter here in WA & was in a crate again. It was so absolutely sad seeing where she came from & how she looked originally. She has been shaved down because of the mats she had when we got her out of the shelter. She is usually quite a fluffy girl. We are also looking for a forever home for Lulu where someone is home during the day or she can go with her people wherever possibly she can go with them.
Lulu is looking for a forever home who will cherish her & love her as she should be loved & be patient with her & never give up on her again.
Lulu has been around many breeds of dogs all shapes & sizes in the rescue & she is currently with other dogs & adores other dogs. She definitely needs dog friends in her forever home.
Lulu is roughly 20.6 lbs, she is 4 years old. Lulu is possibly a Westie/shiba mix, what she is mixed with we are not sure. She is female, she is spayed by laser by our wonderful vets. She had a dental/scale & polish along with dental x-rays. She was treated for a broken nail & given meds along with an eye infection & treated with meds. She is microchipped, heartworm negative, up to date on her shots, including DHLPP, Bordatella, CIV, rabies & dewormed.
We have spent far more on Lulu with, her medical care, boarding fees, redoing all of her medical all over again etc & than her adoption fee comes close to covering.
Lulu has not been around cats since being in the rescue, but it’s always up to the new family to be responsible with their animals together & we have not had her around small children so we do not recommend small children nor cats & it’s always up to the family to be responsible with their children & cats.
We were not there when Lulu was conceived so we do not know who her parents were & it’s always up to the new potential family to look at the pictures & decide what they think her breed is.
As with all of our rescues & Lulu’s friends she will need work on potty training & training, so this should be something the new family would be willing to work on & commit to. Please do not submit an application if you are not willing to commit to one of our rescues care for their whole life & that includes if they need training. Please do not email us asking is Lulu potty trained or available, nor do we ship dogs anywhere as we will not respond.
We would never say anyone of our rescues are potty trained. Our rescues need homes where the people are understanding of their past & what they have been through & what they will need in their daily lives & not willing to give up on them & if they do need training in their new home will in fact take them to training & not just say they will when applying.
Please only submit an application if you are truly interested in adopting Lulu & going through our process and have read her listing fully to the end & are wanting to adopt. If you are not responsive to our calls, emails or your references do not respond we will move on. Or you waste this rescues time, will remove your application from our system. You must be willing to go through our screening process which includes your references being checked, a phone interview & a virtual home visit via WebEx due to covid & followed by a meet & greet & if it’s a good fit, up to our discretion. We will only be accepting applications for Lulu who understands her needs & that meet all the requirements for this special sweet little lady.
Once we find the right home for each little soul we work fast, within days so the dogs can go to their forever homes in quite a timely manner. We do not hold onto dogs for people as our goal is to save lives & please do not submit an application if you are not ready to adopt. We also cannot respond to every application unfortunately.
Lulu has an adoption fee of $995 & is ready for her truly loving forever home & compassion & understanding of what she has been through.
