Story
We adopted a wonderful female pit bull about four months ago. She is sweet as can be with us, other people and was best buddies with our other dog (boxer mix). Unfortunately, last week she escaped and attacked our neighbor’s dog and injured her in the process. She was walking the dog across the street. Even more unfortunately, we are unable to bring her back home here for many reasons. She is currently in intensive training and the folks say she is doing great. We are so hoping to find a loving home for her that we had so wanted to provide.

Now in a loving Misty Eyes foster home, he’s beginning his journey toward finding the one special person or family he can call his own.Gimli is a sensitive, somewhat anxious boy with mild separation anxiety, but with patience, consistency, and companionship, his confidence will continue to grow. Once he feels secure, he will reward his person with unwavering loyalty and devotion—everything this incredible breed is known for.He is crate-trained, has good house manners, and is not destructive in the home (though he may occasionally test the counters for snacks!). Gimli does well with older children and gets along with other dogs, and having both human and canine companions will help him feel more comfortable as he settles in.Gimli would thrive in a home familiar with the German Shepherd breed—one that can provide structure, mental stimulation, and ideally ongoing training to help him reach his full potential. With the right environment and a little time, Gimli is sure to blossom into an extraordinary companion. This friendly and energetic boy has had quite the journey, arriving at Misty Eyes from an overcrowded shelter alongside his siblings. Although he was adopted as a puppy, life threw a curveball, and he found himself back in the care of our dedicated team—through no fault of his own! Now, in his foster home, Sammy is wagging his tail with delight as he polishes up his house manners, proving that practice makes paw-fect! Sammy adores going on walks and spending quality time with his foster family, ready to bring boundless happiness to a forever home. Although he is fine with most people, Sammy doesn`t appreciate other animals, so will need to be the only pet in the home. He would be a great fit for a country home with property where he can expend his energy.
